Quote: "In one of the documents, the department [of justice] proposed that Congress grant the attorney general power to ask the chief judge of any district court to pause court proceedings "[from the United States Department of Justice] whenever the district court is fully or partially closed by virtue of any natural disaster, civil disobedience, or other emergency situation." "This willingness to report others is poisoning civilized behavior..." -- Rafael Behr, professor of criminology and sociology at the Hamburg Police Academy.
"Being institutionalized means that a person has been locked up long enough that they have become used to it, and this can create problems upon one's release. Prison has a very different culture and day to day life than life on the outside, and if you spend long on the inside you easily become used to it. Some of the problems and issues that are common are:

"Being overwhelmed by decisions. Imagine that you basically have to make no major and few minor decisions every day. Now do that for years. Then you get out, decisions like what to have for breakfast can be baffling grocery shopping can be almost impossible. Add to that anxiety with big crowds.

"Anxiety/fear around people, especially big crowds. Generally, there are no big crowds in prison and when there is it is not good. Even on a bigger yard, people group in fairly small groups. Being out in public, among crowds of people, with your back exposed is a very uncomfortable feeling. I still sit with my back to the wall and my eye on the door." -- Skye Sodja

A little background: so when I write science fiction, I always do copious amounts of research into the subjects I will be writing about. In my upcoming novel to be released in the spring, The Day Science Fiction Died, there is an AI that wants to kill. And for that to have a realistic spin on the story, I had to research serial killers. Not my favorite subject, by the way. However, here's where it gets interesting. I stumbled upon a book titled, The Big Book of Serial Killers: 150 Serial Killer Files of the World’s Worst Murders by Jack Rosewood. It highlighted twelve common traits of a serial killer. And digging deeper, there was not much imagination needed, frankly, none at all, in linking AI's behavior to the twelve organic dot-connectors. Actually, sadly, it is extremely disturbing what I uncovered. AI has these very same behavioral flaws. This should frighten you. Serial Killers are typically limited by region and resources, AI is not.

The freedoms forced from formidable families who forgot the freewill forged by our fearless forefathers failed to heed the forewarning of those that feast on false fables that forecast feverous fibs of the Freudian Faust now foster the flames of the fleecing few that force fatalities and funerals by frights of fate only to learn that the fiasco formula of the iron fist was a lie and now their fields, their fathered, and their fellows have fallen because they failed to fiercely fight for their free will, letting the fangs of the feigned fester until their final fate. May they be forgiven...
