Unlearning Masculinity: What it Truly Means to Be a Man with Stefanos Sifandos | Relationships
IGNTD02/24/21 • 58 min
Today we’re taking a deep dive into a topic we haven’t explored in a little while on the IGNTD Podcast, and that is masculinity. Many men struggle with this concept of masculinity and what it means to “be a man.” These struggles often stem from early childhood experiences and are further perpetuated by society. But, the conversation is beginning to shift. Many men are beginning to embody a new version of masculinity and relearn what it really means to truly “be a man.”
Joining me to take this deep dive into masculinity today is my special guest, Stefanos Sifandos. For the last 15 years, Stef has been doing a ton of work in his field, exploring concepts around masculinity and transformation. He is a Relationship Specialist, a Masculine/Feminine Educator, coach, and speaker. As a sought-after innovator in the personal transformation, relationship, and leader space, Stef has served as a mentor and trainer to some of Australia’s top professional sporting teams, professional individual athletes, gold medalists, and more.
Together, we discuss the ways in which men can embody this new version of masculinity, what “being a man” really means, what real growth looks like, and how the healthy vs. the unhealthy aspects of masculinity show up in our lives. Stef also shares about his personal experiences with toxic masculinity, his journey in transformation, and all about the work that he does now to help others in their own journeys.
This was a really fun conversation that is sure to challenge all of us in creating better relationships, becoming more accountable, and taking massive strides into becoming the best version of ourselves that we can be.
