I knew entrepreneurship wasn't going to be "easy" per se but I also didn't know how long the journey would be (it's still never-ending to be honest!)
Over the past 12 years, I have embarked on this journey.
(Actually longer than that when you break down my mindset back when I was a child - more on that later)
But I didn't always run a successful video production company called Ignite Cinemas where we help small businesses & nonprofits grow using the power of video ... no.
In fact, it all started in 1998 when me and my best friend tried to make berry juice from a berry tree in his backyard and sell the juice like it was lemonade!
From my high school hustlin roots of selling CDs & mixtapes and making money to risking it all filming music videos for popular DC rappers in the roughest & toughest hoods, hoping to catch break of working with mega rap stars, to having a breakdown because I lost a freelance editing contract in a blink of an eye leaving me feeling despair with a family to provide for...
Here is a raw & uncut journey I want to share of what "entrepreneur success" may look like.
It's not all happy freedom land where you are your own boss - living your best life ...
and if they tell you that please don't fall for it.
This is a raw & real story to this day of what entrepreneurship looks like behind the scenes.
When I was starting out I wish there was a podcast like this to help me out.
I pray this story can help someone who is on the road or inspire someone to go after what they dream of.

Wanting to finally create a podcast really stems from two things that have been IGNITING my soul over the past year.
As I continue to let God fully guide me on my path & purpose, he has stretched me to go down a new avenue I have never gone before.

For many years I always joked about making a podcast & sharing stories that could help others.
Numerous of my clients I film videos for & conduct interviews with always tell me things along the lines of : "you would be a great podcaster", "you are so motivational & inspiring", "Jaime, you have that IT factor", etc.

While I was greatly humbled by those comments, I’m happy to announce I will finally answer that call this year.

I want to create a space of real discussions on real topics that matter in life.

Not the “highlight reels” we see on everyone’s social media living their best life every day but real vulnerable discussions of things that need to be spoken on.

There were many dark times I was battling depression, suicide, alcoholism, ego & childhood trauma.

I went looking for leaders to relate to situations and help but didn’t find it.

IT’S TIME FOR ME TO STEP UP!

In this "pilot" opening, the first episode I talk more in-depth about the reason for making this podcast and the pillars of discussion I want to discuss weekly.
Some of the topics I will be discussing on this podcast are :
God, mindset (motivation), lifestyle (fatherhood, marriage), entrepreneurship & mental health.
This episode is just the humble start of SO many to come and I could not be more excited to be here and more grateful for you to be listening.
