In this origin story episode, we meet a 12-year-old Bridgette Mathieu on her first day at The Academy, a school for young witches. Though Bridgette comes from a long line of powerful magic users, she hasn't developed any abilities yet. After standing up to bullies targeting her friend Kylie, Bridgette reveals she believes an old family prophecy about awakening dormant magic could apply to her.

While the other students avoid Bridgette, fearing her supposed lack of powers is contagious, Kylie sees her courage and resolutely partners with her for class. Bridgette remains hopeful she'll unlock her own magic one day if she prepares at the Academy. But for now, she's forging a pivotal friendship with Kylie, united in their desire to confront bullies and break free from expectations.

In this episode of Tech Witch, Jean urgently convenes a meeting of the Witches Council, claiming Bridgette and Lowell are conduits of great power tied to an unfulfilled prophecy. The council leader Helene supports Jean's call for decisive action, despite objections from her husband Mark.

When Mark questions Jean's sources, Jean insists the intel comes from his trusted daughter Kylie, who's friends with Bridgette and Lowell. Helene vows the council's full support, but her sibilant tone hints at sinister intent.

Back home, Jean asks Kylie to keep an eye on her friends and report back anything suspicious, claiming it's for their protection. Though conflicted, Kylie agrees. Meanwhile, Bridgette won't answer Kylie's calls, leaving her worried as she's caught between loyalty to her father and her best friend.

Back in his room, Lowell hovers uncontrolled, eyes glowing, amidst raging winds. Bridgette and Kylie try to reach him, but get blasted back by his powerful bursts. When Lowell returns coherent but weak, Kylie embraces him, bringing him back to reality.

Just as they share an intimate moment, Bridgette returns with water to find them locked in a kiss. With Lowell at the center of an ancient prophecy, he now needs to get control of his magic. But simmering tensions between the three friends could undermine their united front.
