#005 - On todayโ€™s show, I have Ovie Ukeko who originally started as an Investigations Team Lead at CIBC and now Manager, AML High-Risk Projects also at CIBC discuss with me some of the challenges new immigrants to Canada face, how he was able to overcome them and the top 3 things that were critical to his success.

He mentions these challenges are mostly due to us being stuck in our minds as to how the job search and hiring process should be, based on our previous learned model.

He shares insights on why most struggle in their job search and the strategy he adopted to mitigate against it, put his best foot forward to achieve optimal results in his search, and how you can do the same.

We further delve into how you can hack the hiring process by positioning yourself such that you are literally being headhunted by hiring managers based on some tips and tricks he learned while in the trenches.

How you can secure and maximize information meetings with hiring managers, show you are the most suitable candidate for the job, and even get them to refer you to other hiring managers just because you have shown you are that good. And finally, Ovie shares a practical application of how you can once again set yourself apart using the STAR model.

So if you are looking to change your current job or are preparing for an important interview I guarantee this is one of those episodes you absolutely do not want to miss. And if you know this would absolutely be of value to someone you know pls go ahead and share with them.

In this "not so typical" episode of the Iconic Life Podcast follow Yemisi Elegbede through this gripping chronicle of how she moved from waiting for 17 and half years, countless negative pregnancy test results, grim medical diagnosis, the deep yearning for children to becoming parents of a lovely set of twins (a boy and a girl).
She shares the process, the principles of God's Word, and how they stood fast regardless of the tears, the pains, the disappointment.
This episode will help you understand practical discipline, persistence, and visualization. Success in life is a requirement and it is based on principles. Giving up never gets the results. Every minute of this interview would help you learn the difference between passively hoping for a desire and actively taking hold of that desire.
Birthing the Promise will boost your faith, stir you up and move you from days and nights of tears to take a hold of your victory.

#013 - After 3 months since the last released episode of the League of Icons podcast, I share the reason for the gift of those 90 days of time and space, and what is hot, new, and upcoming on the show.

The topics covered on a high level included:

Re-aligning Purpose - ensuring what we do in terms of content and activity is at the core of our predetermined overall purpose. Melissa West, founder of Xtreme Coaching over a period of Twelve weeks helped me have this all dialed in. I even became a Certified Blueprint for Success Facilitator.

Evaluation of our 90 Day Podcast Journey - The insights gathered lead to the complete redesign of the podcast website in order to help strengthen the brand and provide a seamless and rewarding experience for members of my tribe League Nation as they engage with the contents on the website. Even as we embark on the next phase of the journey.

Memberships - The desire to build a structured membership made me sign up for Tribe Experience 2021 led by Stu Mclaren, an absolute genius when it comes to building memberships. This would enable us to create a clearly defined success path of how we intend to help move members of our tribe, community, or inner circle from one point to the other in their journey of transformation for as many that are willing to engage in a deeper, structured and result-oriented way.

This is also in alignment with providing a community of like-minded individuals for connection and collaboration

Content Delivery - some structural changes we have made to the delivery of the individual episodes so that the content is easily consumed and not add up to the already overwhelming amount of resources available on the internet.

I must confess it's been an exciting last six months looking back and I am super ecstatic at the new updates and changes we are introducing in terms of structure, method, and content delivery. I want to encourage you to hit the subscribe button and subscribe to the show so you don't miss the fresh new content we have coming your way.

I am glad to be back!!

Let's build this League Nation

015 - So I finally caught up with Charles Osuji after trailing him for 3 years reading about his meteoric rise to โ€œlegal stardomโ€ in Canada and got him to talk about what and how exactly this rise came about.

โ€œ My name is Charles Osuji. I'm the seventh child out of eight kids. I came to Canada in 2011, sponsored by my brother, Joseph Osuji, a Nursing Professor. Before writing the bar exams, I did all kinds of survivor work, you can think of, sleeping only two nights in a week and eventually articling in a law firm that I currently own

I'll talk a little bit about my journey before that point in history, and it was typical of any immigrant's journey, arriving in a new country, having left all of the comforts, your home country afforded. I had family members here, but I told them I was only going to stay with them for a month and then start out on my own because I wanted to challenge myself.

And that's exactly what I did. I tried my hands on all kinds of work. This time I was working three jobs at a time morning afternoon night, you know, I was surviving on Red Bull at some point Red Bull came to its limit... โ€œ

For anyone who knows Charles, this is not your typical interview!
