Welcome to the Hypothetically Sound Podcast. We are 2 brothers and a cousins who after over 15 years found a way back into each others lives. After reconnecting in our lives, we decided that we wanted to make the most out of our time together so we decided to start a podcast so that we could look back at this time in our lives and have a easy way to remember.

In our very first podcast we thought it would be important to give everyone some insight into who we are currently and where we came from. WE felt it was important for our audience to learn as much about us as possible before we started making the content we wanted.

We talk about our dreams, our heartaches, our fears, and happy moments. It is a semi-intense quick hitting look into our lives and we hope you all enjoy!

Hypothetically Sound Podcast - Jane Elliot‘s Brown Eyes, Blue Eyes Experiment!
play

09/26/21 • 34 min

This week we take a look at Jane Elliot's Brown Eyes, Blue Eyes Experiment! We watched the PBS documentary before the podcast and used the time during the podcast to reflect on what we saw and how it has affect the world. We also take a quick look at race and race based issues and ask if a experiment like this is even more needed compared to the 70's.

Guide for Episode 8- A Class Divided Blue Eyes/brown eyes

Intro- Welcome back to Hypothetically Sound, Thank you for listening, today we are gonna take a look at a social experiment. This social experiment is called The eye of the storm or a class divided or its most popular name, brown eye/blue eye experiment. This is a very popular social experiment that many teachers still use today, I myself helped teach or have taught Jane Eliots experiment in some high school classrooms and in a few college classrooms. SO guys, I had us all watch the PBS documentary, before we get into the planned questions I have for you, what were your impressions of the documentary?

Link to PBS- https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/introduction-2/

Colin Kaepernick- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick

-First impressions

What did you think?

Was it well done?

-Do you think this experiment actually changed these kids( they were easily using the N word)

Do you think it had a lasting impact?

Do you think the parents understood?

How do you think todays parents would have taken it?

-So the kids changed so easily when told they were dumb or smart, do you think the same thing would happen today? Do you think this type of mindset is what allowed slavery to go on so long? I.E telling slaves they were dumb made them dumb and not rise up

Is this how oppression started

Your takes on slavery and modern day slavery

-So Jane Elliot does this experiment to adults as well, and White adults seem to get angrier faster than the white children, why do you think that is?

White Privilege

Adults are too comfortable in their norms and strike back when challenged?

Oprah clip- https://youtu.be/ebPoSMULI5U

FaceBook Clip- https://fb.watch/8dTESt68kR/

-After watching it, do you believe that the experiment is unethical and does more harm than good, or is the experiment done well and necessary

Jane Elliot Quote- We don't need a melting pot, we need a salad bowl. You put in the different things you want it all, the veggies, the onions, cucumbers, peppers to maintain the identity, you appreciate the differences, a melting pot doesn't appreciate the differences. WE want a country of differences

Hypothetically Sound Podcast - Malignant Film Review! October Spooky Series!

12/21/21 • 16 min

In this episode we do a film review for the first time! The Movie we choose is Malignant!

We recently watched James Wan's 2021 Malignant. This films stars Annabelle Wallis, Maddie Hasson and George Young.
We choose this as our 1st movie because of the director James Wan, For those that don't know James is one of the creators
of the Saw Series, directed Insidious, the wildly popular Conjuring series, Fast and the Furious 7 and the new Mortal Kombat movie.

The format we are gonna run with in our film reviews are easy, They will be The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly! We will first talk about what we saw as good in the movie(+2:45), then move on to the bad of the movie(+5:00) the bad is small things they could change to make the movie better. Finally we end with the Ugly of the movie(+8:15) The ugly are things that just totally ruined the movie for us, things that need to be changed dramatically to be good.

We hope you enjoy the episode, and make sure to follow and comment on movies you would like to see us review! WE have a lot more coming this month, so make sure to follow us on all our socials to keep up to date!

Billy Bailey (January 1947 – January 25, 1996) was a convicted murderer who was hanged in Delaware in 1996. He became the third person to be hanged in the United States since 1965

As of 2021, he remains the last person to be executed by hanging in the United States.[4]

Convicted for murder- He started by robbing a liquor store at gun point and then

Bailey entered the farmhouse of Gilbert Lambertson, aged 80, and his wife, Clara Lambertson,

aged 73. Bailey shot Gilbert Lambertson twice in the chest with a pistol,

and once in the head with the Lambertsons' shotgun.

He also shot Clara Lambertson once in the shoulder with the pistol,

and once each in the abdomen and neck with the shotgun. Both Lambertsons died.

Bailey arranged their bodies in chairs, and then fled from the scene. He was spotted by a Delaware State Police helicopter as he ran across the Lambertsons' field.

He attempted to shoot the helicopter co-pilot with the pistol, and was later arrested

Final meal-A steak (well-done), a baked potato with sour cream and butter, buttered rolls, peas and vanilla ice cream.[36]

William George Bonin (January 8, 1947 – February 23, 1996), also known as the Freeway Killer, was an American serial killer and twice-paroled sex offender[2][3] who committed the rape, torture, and murder of a minimum of 21 boys and young men in a series of killings in southern California between 1979 and 1980. Bonin is also suspected of committing a further fifteen murders. Described by the prosecutor at his first trial as "the most arch-evil person who ever existed",[4]

Final meal-Two pepperoni and sausage pizzas, three servings of chocolate ice cream, and three six-packs of Coca-Cola and Pepsi.[45]

Arthur Lucas, originally from the U.S. state of Georgia, was one of the two last people to be executed in Canada, on 11 December 1962. Lucas had been convicted of the murder of a police informant from Detroit and his common-law wife. The murders took place in Toronto.

And Ronald Turpin was one of the two last people to be executed in Canada.[1] Turpin had been convicted of the murder of Metropolitan Toronto police officer Frederick Nash. Nash had pulled Turpin over for a broken taillight while the latter was fleeing a robbery.[

Hypothetically Sound Podcast - The Simulation Theory! Are We In The Matrix!
play

09/18/21 • 39 min

In this final episode of the Theory Series Season 1, Xavier leads us on a journey looking at if the world we live in, is actually a simulation. Join us as we talk about what is possible, and when this could possibly happen. We take a look at how video games may shape this possibility and would it truly matter if we did live in a simulation? Would things be any different? Listen to find out our takes. Leave a comment on our Facebook page with your take on this theory, and what other theories you would like us to cover in the future!

Episode 7 Guide: Simulation Theory

Xavier’s Theory

The Simulation Theory:

This theory supposes that we all might be living in a computer simulation created by an alien race in some distant galaxy. While it may sound like an idea dreamed up by someone who has watched too many sci-fi movies, there are actually prominent scientists and physicists who not only think the Simulation Theory is possible, they’re working on experiments to prove it. In particular, a team of German physicists are trying to create their own programmed simulation of our universe. Surprisingly, a recent string theory discovery made by theoretical physicist S. James Gate lends further credibility to this theory. Basically, Gate found what is essentially computer code buried deep within the equations we use to describe our universe. And it’s not just any code, it’s an extremely unusual self-dual linear binary error-correcting block code. So it would seem that error correcting 1s and 0s are embedded in the quantum core of our universe. “Wake up Neo. . . The Matrix has you.”

http://www.thatsreallypossible.com/news/1100/evidence-our-universe-is-a-simulation/ Source: Thatsreallypossible.com

1.“Simply because we perceive the world as ‘real’ and ‘material’ doesn’t mean that it is so,” said Rizwan Virk, a tech entrepreneur and author of The Simulation Hypothesis. “In fact, the findings of quantum physics may shed some doubt on the fact that the material universe is real. The more that scientists look for the “material” in the material world, the more they find that it doesn’t exist.”
(https://builtin.com/hardware/simulation-theory) - Rizwan Virk
1Q. SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK PERSONALLY, ABOUT THIS, AND ABOUT THE CONCEPT THAT OUR WORLD MAY BE FAKE, EVEN AS SCIENTISTS LOOK DEEPER AND DEEPER "MATERIAL" AS WE KNOW IT DOES NOT EXIST.

2. “If you assume any rate of improvement at all, games will eventually be indistinguishable from reality,” Musk said before concluding, “We’re most likely in a simulation.”
(https://www.nbcnews.com/mach/science/what-simulation-hypothesis-why-some-think-life-simulated-reality-ncna913926) - ELON MUSK
2Q. DO YOU THINK BECAUSE WE MAY REACH A POINT WHERE GAMES ARE INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM REALITY THAT IT CONFIRMS WE ARE A SIMULATION?

3.“The real question,” he said, “is what are the limits of computing powers.” Or are there limits? Judging by the types of real-world simulations scientists can now run on supercomputers, what might they be able to run in the coming decades or centuries as processing power achieves levels we currently can’t fathom?"
(https://www.space.com/30124-is-our-universe-a-fake.html) - MARTIN REES

3Q. HOPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING ; IF WE ARE BASE REALITY, DO YOU THINK WE MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SOMTIME IN THE FUTURE CREATING AN INTELLIGENCE OR FORCING THE SIMULATION THEORY TO EXIST VIA SCIENCE?

4.why does any of this matter? What is the purpose of proving or disproving that life as we know it is merely a digital construct and existence simply an immensely complex experiment in someone’s virtual terrarium?
The broad answer, Virk said, is that which all good science pursues: truth. More specifically, our truth.
(https://builtin.com/hardware/simulation-theory) - Rizwan Virk
4Q. DO YOU THINK TRUTH IS A STRONG ENOUGH FACTOR TO KEEP US MOVING FORWARD IN DISCOVERY OF COMPLEX TOPICS LIKE THIS, OR DO YOU THINK FEAR WILL STOP US THE MORE AND MORE WE LEARN?
