07/05/21 • 40 min
The UK is ending the pandemic in two weeks. It is now the world's experiment, but world-beating on COVID. May the odds be forever in their favo(u)r.

In this episode, we investigate the many signs that we are at the end of days and rate the likelihood of each scenario.

What on Earth is this show about? We're not entirely sure ourselves but, loosely, Humans Exhaust Me is a show about 2020 and the people that inhabit our world.
It's an outlet for frustration and a place to air our views - of which we have a lot. Don't expect us to hold back, but it's a fun place.
Come with us as we laugh TOGETHER with our species.

Happy Thanksgiving - Don't Kill Grandma
Humans Exhaust Me
11/24/20 • 37 min
There are new restrictions in the UK - are you keeping up?
Meanwhile, in the US, we're not entirely sure how many presidents there are right now.
In this episode, Paul is asking questions about Thanksgiving. What is it about? Is it still the same now as it was originally? What about Canada?
Just like Christmas, there are routines at Thanksgiving - mainly centred around food, and lots of it. For days.
Of course, there are alternatives this year, if you're choosing to not get together in person. Not sure how you get all the food via Zoom, though. At least you won't serve a big dose of COVID with your corn dressing.

Free Britney
Humans Exhaust Me
06/29/21 • 40 min
A political COVID sex scandal in the UK rocks the establishment and forces the Health Secretary - the guy who wrote the social distancing rules - to resign. It's a free for all now in the UK, and the infection stats reflect that.
Who isn't free? Britney Spears.
We discuss Britney's deposition at the court case about her conservatorship. Can it be right to force someone to keep an IUD in place? When do women stop having the right to control their own reproductive health. Is Britney enslaved?

Can you separate the art from the artist? We briefly ask whether it's possible thanks to JK Rowling trending (again). Do we all have wands in the UK? Is Hogwarts basically Scotland?
Why can kids go into a pub in Britain when they can't go to a bar in the US? Paul tries to justify what are clearly insane rules made in the middle ages.
Never mind pubs, what about restaurants? Phylecia recalls her first experience of visiting a restaurant since lockdown. Spoiler: she didn't exactly enjoy it.

University Challenge
Humans Exhaust Me

Did you really expect college students not to party and 'mingle'? That's the whole point of fresher's week. And anyway, young people are meant to break the rules.
The question is: is there a sense of camaraderie by being in it all together? Are students really loving the attention?
Maybe they should come back and infect grandma.
That's if you know where the Rona is. Apparently, in the US, campuses are testing sewage samples to identify where the virus is. Ew.
After Paul moans a bit about tuition fees in the UK, Phylecia drops the bombshell that a college education costs more than a kidney.
What you need is a tax break.
Which leads us on to a quick discussion about money, and what it takes to run a business. It would all be easier if we were all rich.
Pay your taxes.
Fashionistas Gotta Shop
Humans Exhaust Me
10/07/20 • 34 min
You may be being encouraged to spend money. Where are you spending it?
If you're buying clothes, where are you going exactly?
Despite Phylecia living in the land of the free, remember from the episode on restaurants, she's not leaving her basement until this time next year.
In this conversation, Paul discovers people put their fancy handbags inside other bags to store them.
Anyway, the key info you need is that this fall's trends are loose and comfy.
COVID Dating
Humans Exhaust Me
09/28/20 • 25 min
Hooking up doesn't stop just because of Coronavirus. In this episode we talk about some of the unwritten conventions of dating in these weird times.
Do you tell someone if you have the virus? What about if you had it, but don't anymore?
Pay particular attention to Phylecia's shock that UK citizens have government issued advice on how to reduce infection while getting down to business.
Panic Buyers
Humans Exhaust Me
11/03/20 • 34 min
I know, I know, you were just getting used to Tiers, but that's old news. This week England is going into lockdown once again so, obviously, everyone is buying toilet paper because people really needed it in March.
Have people learned anything from the first wave? In this episode, Paul and Phylecia delve deep into why we're all now preppers and how foolish we have been to ridicule those who were planning for end of days.
Here's a question though: does goats cheese and figs count as middle class eating?
You'll be amazed at how long we can have a conversation about milk storage.
In the event of mass disruption, rationing is important - discover Paul's Pringle rationing system.
In the US, they are rationing guns. Liquor sales are up. It's 2020 remember.
What will the aliens make of all this?

Humans Exhaust Me

How about just advertising for them on Craigslist?
