Episode 2. Starting out - don’t be intimidated!

Briar and Danielle are talking about getting started with learning to play pickleball. If you are thinking about picking up a paddle - where do you start? How do you get from the couch to the court?

Taking it another step - you have an idea for a business, what are you doing to get started?
Don’t be intimidated! You don’t need a partner and you don't need equipment. You do need proper shoes and a paddle and lots of places have paddles on hand. The Pickleball community is growing so fast - people are welcoming.
And if you have a business idea - try it on your own. Make sure you like the idea before making big investments. It’s great to collaborate with people but keep it simple and just jump in.

Episode 4. Let’s talk. Communication!

This week, Danielle and Briar talk about how we talk to each other in our pickleball games. Danielle is playing in a tournament and getting ready by taking a lesson, practicing, drilling, playing. Briar has read interesting materials on professional tennis player communication with winning and losing teams, patterns of communication, and the differences between rec and competitive play. Are the ways we talk to each other the same or different. What about between men and women? What words can we use. Does everyone want to talk in a game?
How do you keep yourself from getting into a funk during a game when mistakes are made. Keeping your spirits up is not as easy as you need it to be.
What about co-workers or employees who aren't as responsive at taking criticism, how do you work with them and get everyone on the same page.
Figure out your court language!
