Alex Huxford On: Why It's Important To Know Your Vagina

09/21/22 • 71 min

How To Be

Alex Huxford, the Brand Manager at Lady Garden Foundation.

Following the episode with Luna Daily I wanted to create an episode with Lady Garden who are a foundation that raise awareness and funding for gynaecological health. Formed in 2014, the Lady Garden Foundation was formed by 8 women who has all been affected by Gynaecological Cancer in some way. They mission is to spread education far and wide so that we are psychologically better equipped and less fearsome when it comes to noticing the signs and symptoms of gynaecological cancers.

Alex gives us an in-depth but relatable version of the gynaecological journey that we go on as women; from starting our periods to reaching the menopause and everything in between.

The main thing that came from this conversation is to know your own normal, Alex shares some really useful things that we can all do to check out our vaginas and get to know them a little better.

What we cover

Education on the female anatomy

Know your normal

What to expect from a smear test

5 Genealogical cancers

Journey of gynaecology

Alex’s pregnancy journey

What to expect from menopause

Here’s Alex’s version of beauty....

Estee Lalonde On: The Importance Of Staying True To Who You Are

One of the original digital voices in beauty, Estée Lalonde has been creating videos on YouTube and sharing her life for over a decade. Known for her love of all things beauty and ability to show all sides of herself in an honest way, Estée has build an enormous online following from opening up and not being scared to show her vulnerable sides, she also addresses the struggles she has with mental health. What I love about Estee is that she is who she is, no apologies, no exceptions just her honest self.

I’m really passionate about having guests on the podcast that stay true to who they are. Estee has a unique ability to remain so humble and relatable throughout of her growth, I mention it a few times in the episode but her energy and aura is super electric, something that I found really inspiring and I hope you do too.

What we cover

The realities of moving country

Pushing yourself to open new opportunities

Estee’s first experience of beauty

Power of passion

Staying true to who you are

Living with depression and anxiety

Importance of taking care of yourself

Mirror Water

Heres her version of beauty....
