182. How has sobriety affected your relationship with the Grads Group
How I quit alcohol09/05/23 • 74 min
In this episode I catch up with some of the HIQA grads to talk about how their sobriety has affected or changed their relationship with their partners. For some it has had a very positive effect, and for others it has caused them to bust up. You changing your lifestyle is always going to have an impact on those closest to you, for some it will create more growth for the partner and for some it will highlight deficits in the relationship. We delve into having compassion for the person that is loosing their drinking buddy, how boundaries may help if your partner is still drinking heavily, how sobriety can change your sex life, or how sobriety can give you a deeper understanding of each other.
I also catch up with James McDonald the husband of one of the HIQA grads Michelle, to see how Shell's sobriety impacted him.
