Few could have predicted that little over a year after leaving employment at Bootham Crescent Sophie would be back helping to save the club from potential oblivion. This episode covers this period in York City's history in great detail as well as giving insights into all of Sophies time representing the club as a director.

Series 8 - Episode 2: Chris Smith
Hospital Ball
02/13/22 • 59 min
The two spells Chris Smith had at York City couldn't have been more contrasting. As a young professional, Chris was part of an inexperienced side under a 27 year old manager which culminated in relegation from the football league for the first time in the clubs history. Following his release he had spells at Stafford, Worcester, Tamworth and Mansfield before returning to the club as Gary Mills captain. The rest as they say is history and what a history it was with Chris leading the club to wins on consecutive weekends at Wembley Stadium in 2012. Here he talks with brutal honesty about his time at the club as well as his wider career.

Hospital Ball

When Russ joined York City in January 2014 the brief was to help steer the club away from relegation but an incredible 17 game unbeaten run was formed and the club sneaked into the League Two play-offs. Here he speaks in detail about his two spells with the minster men, what the club meant to him as well as recounting his wonder strike versus Morecambe in 2015.
