Corb Lund is a fellow Albertan who grew up ranching, rodeoing and expressing himself musically. Hes had a very successful music career, going from rock, to the extremely relatable 'Ag-Trag,' or 'Livestock-Rock' genre, as he calls it. If you've been to the CFR, pro rodeos, or any country event or show in Alberta, you've likely jammed to Corb. Maybe you were even part of the notorious Teepee Creek Stampede party???
Corb Lund is scheduled to make his Grand Ol Opry Debut soon, so a big Congratulations to him on that!
Jaida Dreyer is not only an insanely talented singer, she also writes for herself, and others; and best of all, she knows the true meaning of - Horse Poor -
Jaida has recently written a #1 song that Luke Bryan performs ( Home Alone Tonight) , she also had a song nominated for a Grammy recently with Reba!!! Not only that, she's written hit songs for many other iconic country music stars such as Tim Mcgraw, Faith Hill, Eric Church, Brantley Gilbert and many many more.
In this episode we chat about their roots and how they both have a deep understanding of the term 'Horse Poor.'
We also talked a lot about their hit duet " Horse Poor," (of course) and the ins & outs of writing, performing and making it in the music industry!

Renee Willis has been tearin' up the barrel pen since she was old enough to ride, and even made it to the Canadian Finals Rodeo and the Calgary Stampede by the time she was just 15 & 16 years old!!!
She has been busy raising and training standout barrel horses in Southern BC her whole life, and its not about to slow down any time soon, because Diamond W Barrel Horses are the proud new owners of 'Guys Casanova Cowboy'!!!!
Cowboy has already proven himself as a sire and his offspring have only been in the barrel pen a few years. He is by the one and only, Frenchman's Guy, crossed with some timeless speed on the bottom, being out of a daughter of Holland Ease. We are so excited to bring you Taylor & Rylee Shields this week!! In this fun convo, we learn how they like to bring along and train the futurity horses they always have on the go and in the trailer.
We talk drills, many aspects of training, competitive & training accomplishments, some funny stories, and much more!
Rylee and Taylor bring along their own horses from start to finish and have clearly dialed in how to do this so successfully, along with the rest of their family. Whether it be in Alberta or Oklahoma, they are always bringing top notch horses to the barrel pens.
Rylee has been a champion since her youth days, she is a 3 x American Qualifier wheres shes placed 10th in the long go, and 11th in the 2nd go! She was most recently, the 2021 Greg Olsen Derby Champ, and she has won many other rodeos and races in Canada!
Taylor has been a FCA season leader and Barrel Racing Champ, a 3x American Qualifier on 2 horses she's trained and even finished top 17 in the final round of the semis one year too! She won the first pro rodeo she took Fury's Princess to , and has had many other race and futurity/Derby wins on this mare that we get to hear about in this podcast!
