Road Sodas 15 | Ground Control Woes and Current News
Hoppy Craftsmen - Arizona Craft Beer Podcast
04/19/24 • 18 min
(NSFW) Ed is still out of the country, backpacking around Europe.... we think. Though we're not sure what he's doing over there. I'm sure we'll get filled in on his beer escapades when he gets back. Until then Nate and I decided to sit down at his place and have some of the newer Wren House releases. We talk about some current news from the latest DDH Spellbinder and other varriation release party. The troubles that our friends at Ground Control are having, and a new brewery opening up in North Scottsdale called Pinnacle Brewing. Which is in a semi-industal looking area near the airport. So the beer is probably going to be good.

HCPC54: Stout Season and Lame Beer Holiday Gift Guides
Hoppy Craftsmen - Arizona Craft Beer Podcast
12/12/18 • 80 min
(NSFW) Ed and Chris sit down and talk about holiday shopping for the beer lover in your life. How sites that are not related to craft beer are putting out some pretty lame beer holiday gift guides. Ed goes over the Saguaro Society membership, the class of 2019 group, the record setting sellout of the fifty spaces. They wax and wane on what really is stout season and is there really a "stout season" or should all year be a stout season. Later on, the guys are joined by Sina Gomez (@SaucySina) wife and more importantly Patron supporter of the show. She asks the Craftsmen what they are looking forward to in 2019, and makes some pretty big Patron Supporter requests, or they may have been demands. Also, Ed and Chris settle some beef with the two time Beard Champion @OneTokentoPlay.

09/08/23 • 47 min
(NSFW) In the inaugural episode of Season 2, Ed, Nate, and Chris embark on a flavorful journey as they savor their last sips of the illustrious Dirty Hop Water Series, aptly named "This is the End" by AZ Wilderness Brewing. This hazy IPA boasts a single hop variety, the illustrious Wai-iti. As they sip and savor, they find themselves awash in nostalgia, reminiscing about the series' formative days. The trio delves into the spectrum of their personal favorites, least favorites, and the general excellence that has been the hallmark of the series. Equipped with the newly acquired Yakima Tasting sheets, they aim to elevate their beer-tasting vernacular, with results that are both enlightening and entertaining. Along the way, they engage in spirited speculation, pondering the reasons behind the retirement of the Dirty Hop Water series and what exciting new concoctions might emerge to fill its hoppy shoes.

HCPC43: Dark Sky Brewing - 300 Beers in 3 Years, and PBR Is Better Than Hamms
Hoppy Craftsmen - Arizona Craft Beer Podcast
05/16/18 • 73 min
(NSFW) When the good people up at Dark Sky Brewing asked if we wanted to come up to Flagstaff and chat we said yes. It helped that the date we settled on was their 3rd Anniversary Party. We sat down with Ryan Sandlin Co-Owner, Brewer, and all around pretty cool guy. We talk about how a night of backyard drinking with friends turned into this beer making machine that is Dark Sky Brewing. The growing pains that they saw early on, and what the future plans are for the brewery. We marvel at the sheer number of beers they have made in the last three years, what was good, and what was not so good with some of them. We talk the amount of collaborations they have done, their latest can and bottle releases, and what everyone will be missing at the festivities that night. Along the way Ryan treats us to samples of each of the new releases, and some beers that are no longer in production. If you get a chance to check out Dark Sky Brewing in Flagstaff Arizona the first international dark sky city, we highly recommend it.

HCPC57 Gold Foil is the New Black
Hoppy Craftsmen - Arizona Craft Beer Podcast
02/06/19 • 69 min
(NSFW) This week we talk about how two of the craftsmen joined the Superstition Meadery guild membership. Then how they have to pay back the borrowed money from a loan shark. But, they are going to flush with mead though! Nate is a tad disappointed with the Wren House Saguaro Society swag. We then discuss which one of the Wren's releases was our favorite over the past year. A Thrillist list of most underrated breweries brings some heat on who belongs on the top of those lists. We go over a few standout items that we saw for events in the AZ beer week 2019. Such as Meet Me in the Pit event at Irene's Tap room where Rowley Farm House Ales versus Dark Sky Brewing go head to head . Where we will be podcasting from, and talking to both brewers. AZ Wilderness is opening their new facility to the general public for a two bottle release, and popping some bottles from their cellar. The HCPC crew is going to Strong Beerfest to cause some mayhem in the festival. We invent a toilet stove combo, so you never have to leave your kitchen. You are welcome listeners! We talk about this thing called flagship February. Which in turns into what are flagship beers from each of the local places.
