The Shadow in Dubuque, Iowa
09/08/22 • 25 min
When Julia Price spends a night in Dubuque, Iowa, drinking at a local bar with her friends and singing some truly terrible karaoke, she wakes the next morning with a headache. A headache that won't go away no matter what she tries.
But during an encounter with her roommate's Aunt Letty, Julia finds that she brought something more than a headache home with her from the bar that night. Something dark and shadowy. Something that doesn't want to let her go.
Welcome to Hometown Paranormal, where everything is fake and nothing is real, but every hometown gets its own paranormal story.

Welcome to Hometown Paranormal where everything is fake and nothing is real, but every hometown gets its own paranormal story.
Thank you to Franke for nominating Monument, Colorado for today's story.
As a reminder, Hometown Paranormal consists of fictional stories and characters, and only the name of the town/state are real. Any resemblance to actual people or events is coincidental and unintentional.
This story is inspired by some true-stories written about in the book, "Mysteries of the Cosmic Joker" by Kathryn Walker from the "Unsolved" book series. It is a junior fiction book, and great for kids. I highly recommend you check it out.
I encourage you to follow me on Instagram: @Hometown.Paranormal and leave me a message about a town you'd like to see featured on the podcast.
