This is a mini-episode about adding style or updating things like kitchen cabinets and bookshelves using temporary wallpaper. Note: this is also a renter-friendly suggestion in the event that you don’t own your own home yet! Also, this is a concept to chew on for updating a space without completely overhauling it. As always this includes things to ask yourself about your own space and your reasons.

Consider your outdoor environment. It can either relax you or stress you out. Is it comfortable? Do you want to linger? Do you see or hear birds? Do you butterflies visiting? Pollinators are responsible for 1 out of 3 bites of food we take each day, and yet pollinators are at a critical point in their own survival. Celebrate this years’ 50th anniversary of Earth Day by incorporating more nectar and pollen sources in your yard to help improve their health and numbers. Increasing the number of pollinator-friendly gardens and landscapes will help revive the health of bees, butterflies, birds, and other pollinators around the world. Published on the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, in honor of Mother Nature.

I believe that your space directly affects how you feel and function every moment that you are in your home, whether you are aware of it or not. Living in a home that doesn’t suit your temperament can be draining and exhausting. How fulfilled we are can have a big impact on our daily life across all kinds of contexts. By understanding where we fall on the introvert, extrovert, ambivert scale, we can address setting our homes up to support our natural instincts and increase our propensity for truly enjoying our home in a way that you feel you are being supported and nurtured.

When you stand at the street and look at your home, do you have a sightline to the area where you want to build the fence or place the hedge? What are your "WHY's" when considering fencing and have you thought about your taste first?

Have you considered a horizontal fence? A green fence? A modern fence? A varied height fence with corten steel panels?

With so many options to choose from, it's easy to get overwhelmed. This episode dives into both natural and hardscape fencing along with questions to ask yourself about the aesthetics of your yard and the functionality of it for the long haul.

This is a compilation of all the research I did and the things I learned when we built our own home along with things I wished I had known. It includes research on what other people also wished they had known and thought of ahead of time. From what to expect for the building process to building terms and things you shouldn’t forget in the bathroom, this one hour podcast could save you thousands of dollars and much disappointment in your home-build so listen, take notes, and share it!

Builders; you might make it common practice to share this on social media and with any potential clients to educate them and avoid more change orders than you might otherwise have had. When clients consider all the details they want to include in their home upfront before the process begins, they will feel like they thought of everything, they will be educated on some terms and they’ll end up with a home that includes all the details they may have never thought of. Everybody wins so share this liberally. Also, I consult on home builds so send me an email if you'd like to collaborate on a project! [email protected]

How many projects do you have lying around unfinished? As a realtor, I see first hand that garages can get lost in unfinished projects. Guest rooms can become junk rooms where unfinished projects get closed behind a door. I have read statistics that more than half of U.S. homeowners have at least one uncompleted home project. Unfinished projects can add stress to your daily life, especially when you see the unfinished pieces lying around every single day and rendering entire spaces and rooms unusable. How do we finish what we have already started and how can we prevent this cycle from happening again? Come geek out with me on Finishing & Revising Home Projects.

Did you know that you can hire me no matter where you live? If you are stuck on one particular area of your home, I do online consults to help you with your space and reasoning. If you live in the Portland, Oregon area and you’d like to hire me as your Realtor or your home coach to help work through difficult spaces, reach out to me at [email protected].
