WWJD? He'd read the HAFTARAH! How much do you know about this custom?
Remember when Yeshua visited his hometown and read from Isaiah and everybody freaked out? This is something that's still done in synagogues today! Noooo not the flash mob part, I mean the part about reading from the Prophets. It's called the "Haftarah" and the earliest record we have of this custom is actually the New Testament. I should warn you though that you may be shocked to see how this tradition has changed since two thousand years ago and it may leave you wondering...what happened to Yeshua's Haftarah? This is a takeaway from my newest Mishnah Snapshots study. We also talked about these questions: ~What do you mean, the Mishnah and the New Testament go hand in hand? ~Did you know half the "Our Father" is from Judaism's oldest and most-repeated prayer? ~Why were all the Christological passages excluded from the Prophetic readings? ~What does the connection between Haftarah and Afikoman tell you about Yeshua? Watch the full lesson and check out this ongoing series by clicking through this episode or by going to holylanguage.com > Learn > Mishnah Snapshots.

E-SWORD BIBLE APP 4/5: Look up Hebrew and Greek words using Strong's Concordance and Dictionaries
Have you ever used Strong's to look up a Hebrew or Greek word? Strong's is STRONGEST on the e-Sword Bible app! Here's how to search original words and see every place they're used in Scripture and how they're translated. I'm also going to show you how to get modules you can't get through the app including the Gesenius Hebrew dictionary and an interlinear Hebrew Bible with vowel pointings. In this tutorial I'll also give you my recommendations for in-depth study Bibles such as the Apostolic Polyglot which shows the Greek LXX and NT equivalents of Hebrew OT terms, demonstrate how to tweak the settings and turn on Bible Study mode, and give you an overview of the four lexicons available through the app - Strong's, Brown Driver and Briggs (BDB), the King James Concordance (KJC), and the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon (AHLB) which details the concrete meanings of words based on the original Hebrew pictographs.
