The two greatest powers in Archaic Greece go to war with each other, and after wasting many years and thousands of lives and all of their money... the two cities ended up destroying each other. They never recovered.
Meanwhile, in Athens, the Oligarchs are squeezing the people of their rights and freedoms and are quickly turning the people into slaves. Solon, the Statesman, introduces radical reforms that lead to the birth of Athenian Democracy.
