Today I talked about and reviewed the book Best of Enemies: A History of US and Middle East Relations, Part One: 1783-1953 by Jean-Pierre Filiu. I go over America's early role in negotiating with different groups in the middle east, and their attempts to westernize heavily religious countries. I give my take on graphic novel depictions of serious topics, and why this book is a good jumping off point for understanding American-Middle Eastern relations.
