Trouble stirs as Algy faces one of his worst nightmares: his Ex. When the beautiful, sophisticated Vera Goring invites him and some of his fellow investigators to a fancy party, Algy is quick to refuse. But a sudden change in circumstances not only puts Heinous Investigations hot on the trail of another case, but also leads Algy to seek petty revenge on his former flame. Shapeshifting hijinks, poor attempts at espionage and even poorer attempts to understand gender ensue.
