Welcome to a new series all about women’s health in the workplace hosted by DocHQ. Every month, I will be speaking with different women about their personal health experiences in and out of the workplace. We’ll be covering health conditions such as menopause, fertility, endometriosis, sexual health and mental health. The aim of this series is to shine a much needed spotlight on the issue of women’s health in the workplace.
We want to give women a place to share their personal stories and encourage employers to make changes in their workplaces to make the discussion on health more open and accessible.
In this episode, we hear from members of the DocHQ team on their personal health journeys. A huge thank you to Lina, Mel and Debby for sharing their stories and their time. Particularly to Lina who told us about her difficult experience getting a diagnosis for endometriosis and how it's impacted her personal and work lives.
If you have a story you’d like to share about your experience as an employee with a health issue in the workplace, or if you’re an employer who has made changes to the conversation on women’s health within your team, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you to Dr Rebecca Williams for chatting with us about stresses impact on our physical and mental health.
Stress is more than just a feeling; it's a physical and psychological reaction to demands that exceed our coping abilities. When faced with prolonged stress, our body releases hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, which prepare us for emergency action. This constant state of high alert can lead to muscle tension and inflammation, common contributors to physical pain and discomfort.
Today, we are lucky to be speaking with Dr Rebecca Williams, a Stress Management Specialist working with individuals struggling with stress. She also works with businesses and organisations to help them reduce presenteeism, absenteeism and high staff turnover. Following her medical training in Cambridge and Oxford, she completed her GP training in the Scottish Borders and has worked as a GP there for nearly 25 years, witnessing first-hand the impact of stress on mental, physical and emotional health.
As a Stress Management Specialist, she supports individuals in understanding and managing their stress. She also works with businesses to educate and support their staff through webinars, workshops and confidential 1-2-1 sessions.

Health Tech for Businesses - Menopause and Physical Therapy: In conversation with Jackie Grant
play

04/04/24 • 35 min

Thank you to Jackie Grant for sitting down with us to talk about all things menopause, from fitness and physiotherapy to health testing and community outreach.
It was delightful to hear about the incredible work Jackie is doing to empower women to understand their bodies and navigate through difficult transitions. Here, she tells us about the Menopause and Women's Health cafe she opened to create a safe and open space for women to share their experiences.
At DocHQ, we aim to improve health choices for women in your workplace. With over 13 million women in the UK workforce potentially experiencing menopause or perimenopause, it's crucial. In the UK, only 27% of women disclose their menopause symptoms to their employers.
Our Menopause Health Check range is an invaluable tool you can offer your employees. It helps them learn more about their menopausal status, receive GP-verified results, and get the support they deserve.
