HBI Podcast #16 - Contracts, Hiring and What to Look Out For - Employers and Employees
Health, Business and In-Between Podcast
06/01/21 • 27 min
In today’s episode, Dan has a few questions around hiring and setting up contracts as he is looking to hire a health professional in the near future. The boys openly and truthfully discuss what kind of contract setup is ideal for both the employee and employer, the pros and cons of each contract type. For example, sub-contractor vs. casual/part-time/full-time employee contract, pros and cons. Importantly, the boys discuss remuneration for both parties and what is fair in their eyes. They go over certain metrics to use when deciding how much to offer an employee / contractor, how to best negotiate (employer and employee), how to maintain staff and keep staff retention high, and strategies and/or incentives to keep staff content, empowered, valued and of course, paid fairly for their efforts.
This episode is appropriate for health professionals seeking work, health professional students, and health professional business owners.

HBI Podcast #73 - Client Diagnostics & Transparency (plus Bali Belly)
Health, Business and In-Between Podcast
11/17/22 • 26 min
In this episode the Daniel, Ben and Nathan speak about the controversial 'diagnostic' elephant in the room. It is imperative that the client understands what problem, injury, or issue they have. It is the responsibility of the practitioner to diagnose, communicate this effectively and orchestrate a treatment plan for the identified issue / problem at hand. Doing this gives the client the information they need to solve their problem/s. This is a good listen for all Allied Health professionals and anyone who is seeking professional advice - especially those who may have injuries / problems that have not been solved!

Health, Business and In-Between Podcast
09/20/21 • 45 min
In this episode, the lads are back and talking about investing in your business and outside. We all know that as an allied health practitioner (as anyone really) you need to be investing for the long term. Investing in the business making yourself, your team and your offering the best around now and into the future and then investing outside no matter if its property, stocks, crypto or another offering, there is never a bad time to be investing in your future.

HBI Podcast #17 - Sh!t Happens and Crypto Chit Chat
Health, Business and In-Between Podcast
06/07/21 • 43 min
In today’s episode, Nathan and Ben chat about the snap COVID-19 lockdown in Perth, and the administrative burden and headaches this had caused. They speak about a juicy topic of theirs, ‘health professionals bagging other health professionals’ or ‘douche bags in the health industry’ as Nathan was the victim to some unfair circumstances. They then go onto discuss the age old traditional beef that exists between Physiotherapists and Chiropractors (and vice versa), Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and handling personal complaints, how you should interact and communicate with other health professionals, especially when co-managing clients, and prioritizing your personal and business life to avoid emotional and psychological ‘burn-out’ and excessive stress. The other half to this episode is personal discussions around different investments the boys have including the elusive ‘Crypto-Currency’ space!
This episode is suitable for all healthcare professionals, students, clients or ours and the avid crypto investors.
