Episode Title: 🇧🇸Cyber Reef🇧🇸
This is an exciting and yet another global episode of Heads Talk for the #HTCyberProtectSeries. We talk to an individual who established the Cybersecurity Department for the Central Bank of The Bahamas. That is just one of her achievements and I get the feeling there will be a lot more to come.
Sametria McKinney currently serves as the Director at the Office of the Prime Minister, where she leads the National Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT-BS). In this role, she spearheads initiatives to enhance The Bahamas' cyber resilience; and oversees the development and implementation of the nation's first National Cybersecurity Strategy.

Prior to this, she was the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Central Bank of The Bahamas, where she established the Bank's Information Security Department.

Sametria’s contributions to cybersecurity have earned her International recognition, including:

  • The ISSA International President’s Award for Cybersecurity in Public Service (2023); and
  • The ISC2 Senior Professional Award for the Americas Region (2024).

It was truly enjoyable and enlightening to witness the effort involved in building a security department and to explore the distinct challenges faced by financial institutions compared to other industries. Sametria is a force of nature, deeply committed to ensure cybersecurity alignment and resilience across the Caribbean. Her focus on action over recognition makes her an unsung hero in this critical field—an admirable and inspiring quality.

Episode Title: 🇫🇷Sporting Powerplay: Unraveling the Global Nexus of Politics, Money, and State Interests🇫🇷
Halfway through my research for this new #HTSportsSeries on Heads Talk, I fortuitously came across a book that covered a large percentage of what the series is all about. The handful of chapters available online were not enough, so I reached out to the author to invite him on the show to discuss its content. I was thrilled when he agreed to do an episode with me, and equally excited when his publisher, Simon Whitmore, sent a copy of the book to read. It was a total page-turner and aligned perfectly with the vision I had for the series. In the comments, you will see a photo of the book taken when it arrived!
Simon Chadwick, Professor of Geopolitical Economy at Skema Business School in Paris, Member of Publica Think Tank and Director of the Global Executive MBA in Sport, naturally is the first guest of choice to kickstart this series. This topic is poised to become a major focus in the coming months and years, if it hasn't already. Incredibly fascinated by this subject, to the point of excitement, and I can't get enough of it. The developments happening right now are truly thought provoking —but all eyes are on AI. Take a moment to look beyond AI and see this! Arguably, it is one of my favourite episodes of Heads Talk to date.

◽️Soft Power Game
◽️SportsTech: Diffusion Effect
