25. The Matrix (1999) with Yagami
Have Not Seen This
03/11/20 • 75 min
We go down the rabbit hole this week for The Matrix, a movie that has been a long time coming for Rafe to discuss on a podcast. Our guest is Yagami, who brings an amazing passion about movies and a very unique perspective as someone in a developing country. Rafe and Yagami discuss movie theaters, the 3D film phenomenon, philosophy, anime films, and (of course) The Matrix. It's an excellent episode that is destined to be one of our "Best of" episodes.

Have Not Seen This
12/10/20 • 69 min
To celebrate the holiday season this year, we're doing a run of children's movies, because to Rafe, the holidays helps recapture that feeling of childhood. We kick things off this week with The Great Muppet Caper. Hear Rafe and guest Connor J. Burke discuss their childhood experiences with the Muppets, their take on the latest series to feature Kermit and friends, and why Charles Grodin may be the best human to have interacted with the Muppets on film.

Have Not Seen This
06/25/20 • 69 min
We're diving into our first animated Disney feature this week with guest Scotty Moore of the BS Network. Scotty is out to set a record for the most podcast appearances and we were happy to have him on our show to add to his count. Rafe and Scotty discuss the train wreck that was the making of Kingdom of the Sun (which eventually became The Emperor's New Groove), crying at Disney films, and the documentary The Sweatbox (which can currently be found on YouTube).

55. UHF (1989) with Lauren Carey
Have Not Seen This
11/18/20 • 68 min
"Weird Al" Yankovic is known for his song parodies, but did you realize he made a movie too? This week's guest, Lauren Carey, and Rafe talk about the enduring legacy of Weird Al, the numerous soon-to-be comedy superstars that assembled for UHF, a comedy full of movie parodies of the quality you'd expect from the guy who brought you "Eat It" and "It's All About the Pentiums". This is definitely one of those movies that if you have not seen, you should!

46. The Wraith (1987) with Casey Edison
Have Not Seen This
09/16/20 • 67 min
What do Charlie Sheen, Randy Quaid, Sherilyn Fenn, and two characters best described as the "bully Statler and Waldorf" have in common? The 1987 sci-fi/horror film The Wraith, which Rafe discusses with this week's guest Casey Edison. Rafe and Casey talk "bad" movies, '80s movie tropes, the popularity of Quaid and Fenn, and lots more as they dive into this movie most of you probably have not seen.

81. Green Room (2015) with Thomas Mariani
Have Not Seen This
10/14/21 • 65 min
We're kicking off our "spooky season" a little late, but still starting with quite a bang. Thomas Mariani returns to the show for a fourth time to talk about Green Room, a movie that has the tragic status of being actor Anton Yelchin's final, and yet most promising, film. Put him up against Patrick Stewart as the head of a neo-nazi organization and even standing on opposite sides of a closed door the tension is palatable. Since it isn't a traditional "horror movie," Rafe and Thomas end up talking about their experience and opinions on what makes a movie a "horror movie" in the first place.

69. Warrior (2011) with Alex Whiteley
Have Not Seen This
06/10/21 • 66 min
This week's guest, Alex Whiteley, brings the 2011 movie Warrior to the podcast for a great conversation. Listen as Rafe and Alex discuss Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton playing two very different protagonists who are destined to face each other in a mixed martial arts tournament - a conflict made deeper by the fact that they are actually brothers! We discuss this combination sports movie and family drama, featuring a brilliant performance from one of Rafe's least favorite actors: Nick Nolte, along with conversations about our own families and crying at movies.

37. Sharknado (2013) with Sara Newell
Have Not Seen This
06/11/20 • 65 min
Summer should be a time for popcorn-blockbuster films, but with the state of the world right now the closest we're going to get are the ones we can stream, so what better time to check out 2013's Sharknado (which had a limited one-night-only theatrical release). Rafe is joined by Sara Newell to talk about the first in SyFy's shark-laden franchise. We start to lay down rules for a Sharknado drinking game, but mostly keep saying how absolutely absurd this week's choice is.
