Are you ready to tread the eerie corridors of the infamous Myrtle's Plantation? With a reputation that would send chills down the bravest of spines, this 22-room house in St Francisville, Louisiana, is shrouded in chilling tales and spine-tingling sightings. This week, we will walk you through its twisted history, introducing you to the people who once called it home and those who, some believe, have never really left.
Our journey starts with the builder, General David Bradford, and carries through to the various occupants who have filled its rooms over the centuries. But the story that will truly have you on tenterhooks is that of Chloe, a former slave whose tragic decisions have forever tinted the history of the plantation. Learn about her desperate attempts to regain status within the household that led to deaths, vengeance, and a ghostly presence that still haunts the plantation.
However, the spectral encounters don't end with Chloe. The research we have conducted also uncovers the unsolved murder of William Winter, a previous owner of the house, who was shot under the most puzzling circumstances. We’ll delve into the haunting tales of a mirror alleged to contain trapped spirits and a young girl who took her last breath within the house's walls in 1868. From the pillaging of the house during the Civil War to the chilling sightings of spirits, this week’s episode promises a deep dive into the chilling past of Myrtle's Plantation. Prepare to be thrilled, chilled, and have your curiosity piqued.

A sleepy Southern California town is turned upside down with the murders of 4 boys. So much so, the town changed its name. Join us as we look into the crime that rocked this small town and meet the monster who called it home almost 100 years ago. Looking for more information on The Wineville Chicken Coop Murders check out these books The Road Out of Hell: Sanford Clark and the True Story of the Wineville Murders by Anthony Flacco and Jerry Clark (Sanford's son). or Nothing Is Strange with You: The Life and Crimes of Gordon Stewart Northcott by Janes Jeffrey Paul More info that wasn't mentioned in the episode.... Pictures of the murder farm in 1928 (top, obvi :) and then sometime in the 90's-2009 (bottom) the picture on bottom was taken before 2009. Like I did mention, many people visit the Wineville Murder Farm, especially during Halloween season, its harder to imagine now, what it once looked like, but, as recently as 10 years ago the house pretty much looked the same. Many of the surrounding neighbors report of hearing the sounds of boys running around and at times, in the still of the night they still hear their sobs. The first suspect and supposedly the last person to see Elizabeth alive, Robert “Red” Manly, although cleared of murder, he was haunted by the crime for the rest of his life.

His wife stood by his side, unfortunately she had to have him committed to Patton State Hospital in 1954.

Police bulletin to the officers on the investigation.

Letters received by the newspapers. The police believe these were sent by the killer

Random pages from the LAPD case file.

I know I said I would put a link to the crime scene and morgue photos, but, honestly, you can just google “Black Dahlia Morgue photos” and hit image and all of the crime scene and morgue photos show up, WARNING, they are graphic, its hard to even realize that was once a living person.

The photo below is the doctored photo that the press released, they even changed her face and covered the cuts from her mouth to her ears. Its the only photo I can stand to even post.

Podcast Q&A

Why did you start this show?

I love storytelling. I am passionate about genealogy and tracing family history, I think you can learn so much about yourself by seeing who you came from.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

Mostly being entertained by the paranormal stories but also, being encouraged research things you are interested in. And for the cold cases to hopefully encourage someone to come forward with information they may have always thought wasn't helpful but, turns out it could be.

Which episode should someone start with?

The first one, we were very green and our audio wasn't great but, I think its cool to hear the progression

Which have been your favourite episodes so far?

Boy in a Box, America's Known Child

Which episode are you most proud of?

All the cold case episodes, I feel blessed to have been given a chance to meet all the family members. There are a group of people that belong to a club they never asked to be a part of, Those that have lost a loved one and have zero answers as to what happened to them. The individuals who never give up hope, that still years and decades later have the same drive to find out what happened. I admire them and feel honored to be able to tell their stories

What is your vision for your show?

I hope to help someone, whether it be the end of a cold case or even give insight to something that happened long ago

What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?

Help, I Sexted my Boss

How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

I can't remember! I know we went back and forth for awhile and I asked so many peoples opinions. But, I knew it was the right name when a listener emailed me and sent me a logo design that I loved and still have!

Tell us a bit about yourself

an avid history buff who truly believes "who doesn't love a good ghost story"
