How do you sell yourself to a company that isn't valuing you or giving you opportunities right now? It's tempting when you are feeling stuck in your job to just think, 'I'm going to quit.' But what if there was a way to negotiate with your company to do work you enjoy more and take that next step without having to quit? And should you even try? Today, we'll answer these questions with Nicole Tschierske and she'll help us see how impostor syndrome can be sabotaging your growth.
Nicole is a Scientist and a Positive Psychologist who is very passionate about helping women in STEM become influential, so they can confidently unlock new opportunities for themselves, get their employers saying “we need you on this job!” and make a bigger impact.

  • Why you don't need to look for a new job the moment you feel under-challenged and overlooked (and how to create a position you love in the company you already work for).
  • How the unhelpful labels "impostor syndrome" and "lack of confidence" are sabotaging your growth (and the secret to building senior-level credibility).
  • Helpful advice to build your expert credibility and start getting your points and ideas addressed.
  • How to shortcut the path to career fulfillment (and how this advice works especially well for those who feel their only option is leaving their job and starting all over again).

Let's talk heart-to-soul. If you uncover these lessons, these are some powerful lessons to make personal change in your life. Here's the thing: we need to have a raw conversation about the emotional obstacles that come as you pursue professional growth.

  1. Discover the emotional obstacles that come from transitioning from our boring job to a job you'll love or business you'll love, because often we talk about the "how to" and "how to get it done", but we don't talk about the emotional obstacles that come along the way.
  2. Why you need to uncover the one relationship that either could be ruining or building your life and your career and your business. You need to figure out which one it is and do everything you can to make sure it's building and not ruining or destroying you.
  3. The biggest lessons I learned in 2021 and lessons so far for 2022 for career and business growth. Let's start with number one. Let's work on discovering the emotional obstacles that come from transitioning from a boring job.
  4. Where have I been? Have I been MIA? What's going on? Yeah, we're going to talk about that. I'm going to be really open and honest about what's been going on with me and how I felt about it.

Looking forward to chatting!

Have you ever thought about how to quit your job and start from scratch doing what you love, even if you have no idea what that is? The skeptic and fear in you creeps up... is it something the every day person is capable of? How would it work?
In today's show, we're talking with Brittany Chung Campbell, who quit her job with no plan and replaced most of her income in 60 days, during the height of the pandemic in March 2020. In less than a year and during a pandemic, she went from working in a daycare to having a clientele roster, a faculty position teaching her passion and landed multiple contracts with her favorite company in the industry. She is a Creative Entrepreneur doing what she loves.

  • What if you want to quit your job to do what you love, even if you no idea what exactly that is yet? How do you replace most of your income in 60 days?
  • What if you want to follow your passion, but the thing that excites you the most is something creative (writing, music, arts)? How do you avoid being a starving artist?
  • What if you tried to start a career or business doing what you love three or more times and it hasn't worked? How do you avoid another failure? What do you differently?
  • Who wants to hear "a brown girl's story"? I'm not a expert. How do you silence your inner critic and overcome imposter syndrome? How do you silence the external critics who say you can't do it?

These are the real questions Brittany was asking herself in the beginning. Listen in to learn how she got to where she is today.
Today, Brittany is a Book Coach, who helps diverse and true stories to be heard. She helps diverse authors go from just an idea to completed manuscript and consistent sales. She focuses on underrepresented stories: Diverse Sexual Orientations, Gender, Race, Differently-abled, Culturally diverse, and Conscious Writers. But when Brittany started someone she admired told her "no one wants to hear a brown girl's story."
Listen in to see how you can apply some of the lessons to how you build your career or business.
