The Gwynntel Gang welcomed in the creator of the ZIPS projection system and ESPN writer, Dan Szymborski. Dan recently went off on a Twitter rant bashing the idea of the Padres signing Eric Hosmer and veering away from their rebuild plan so we wanted to get him on to discuss.

1. We talk with Dan about the vast national writer conspiracy to hate the Padres OF WHICH HE IS A PART OF.
2. Dan digs into why the Padres signing Eric Hosmer is such a terrible idea. Dan reveals how ZIPS sees Hosmer, and also reveals what percentage the chance is that he actually plays up to a 6/120 contract
3. We get Dan to reveal a few of his ZIPS projections for Padres in 2018 INCLUDING THE APPLE OF MY EYE AUSTIN HEDGES

We taped live at the official unofficial brewery of Gwynntelligence, Rouleur Brewing. They graciously hosted us and served their delicious Beerly Awake Coffee IPA. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: Burgeon gets all the publicity locally but Rouleur is my favorite coastal North County brewery. This also means there is not the crystal clear sound quality we are used to from Marver and I [snicker].
