Moira La Plante is a Colorado-based photographer who has been shooting weddings with her husband, Jesse, since 2008. After graduating from Georgetown University with a business degree, Moira honed her problem-solving skills by working in many different arenas - from academia to atmospheric science research to entrepreneurship - before migrating to the wedding industry.

Last year, Moira was named one of the “25 Best Wedding Photographers in the World” by Fearless Photographers and (along with Jesse) “Photographer of the Year” by This is Reportage. She is an ambassador for MagMod, Geekoto, Cheetah Stand and DreambooksPro.

Tim grew up in a humble little town in New Zealand called Te Awamutu (Tee Awa-moo-too). When he turned 18, he decided to jump the ditch and complete his studies in Sydney. After growing into big city life and developing his passions for music and photography, Tim met his dream girl and made her his wife! Together, they moved to London, fell in love with coffee, whiskey, history and travel. 2 years later, their visas sent them packing back to Sydney and a year later they welcomed their newest addition to the family, Arlo Judah Williams.

As of 2021, the next chapter continues in Nelson and they have since welcomed 2 more amazing humans - Finley Sage and Koda Hudson.

Honza has a passion for people and their emotions. Proud husband, used to be a guy from corporate and now shoots weddings all around the world and hosts his own workshops for Wedding Photographers.
Honza honestly believes that capturing real and authentic moments is the biggest value that any photographer can deliver to their clients. Based in Czech republic, but love has no borders for him.

Shutter Circle’s main core value will always be community over competition. When the team started out there was a lot of gatekeeping in the industry, and they wanted to be that change. There are so many wedding photography/videography workshops out there, but seem to only target established businesses. Shutter Circle wanted to close that gap, to help share their knowledge with beginners trying to get into the industry.

Seasoned wedding photographers - Nik, Luke & Kieran have 25+ years of combined experience under their belts, and want to provide a community of like-minded peers where asking questions is actively encouraged and providing a support network in an otherwise lonely industry.

In August 2023, the Shutter Circle team set up a facebook group that has now grown to over 1500 active members. In that group people feel safe to ask questions, and utilise the free resources and helpful tips that they share.

Shutter Circle quickly identified the pain points within the industry and wanted to help other photographers and videographers connect and share work with each other. Through the use of their new second shooter portal (launching Spring 2024!) users will be able to filter search criteria to find the perfect second shooters for their upcoming weddings, and apply for jobs. The portal will remove the overwhelming process of looking for second shooters on Facebook, and trawling through the comments of people who may not necessarily fit the style or brand that you’re after. Users will be able to make their own profile, list their equipment, price and shooting style. There will also be a review system in place for both parties - meaning seconds can review the main photographer for things like; Did they pay on time? Did they return SD cards?

Scott Johnson FBIPP FSWPP Master of The Societies is an Internationally recognised, award-winning photographer based in Essex, U.K, and has photographed wedding all over the world. Known for being fun and energetic, Scott also travels the world as a judge, educator and mentor. He has judged for SWPP, WPPI as well as numerous international competitions including the only British judge for the 2020 Photographic World Cup.
