Retired Air Force Brig. General David Cotton shares his story of coming out LGBT+ after leaving his military career. He struggled with depression and with ending his marriage, but he shares how he learned how to embrace vulnerability and discovered new ways to connect with others.

GR 51 Dr. Larry Millhoffer shares his experiences from the early days of AIDS

Dr. Larry Millhoffer is a retired physician who is grateful to have been with his husband for 45 years. Over that time the meaning of "coming out" has evolved, but a pivotal time in his life was caring for the first patients with AIDS as a young physician in the early 80's. During our conversation he reflects on the challenges of caring for patients in a time of fear and uncertainty, and on how the AIDS crisis changed the LGBT community.

Because our community lost so many people during this period I think it is extremely valuable to hear from those who lived through that time. As a gay physician Dr. Millhoffer brings a perspective that we don't usually get to hear.
