EPISODE 102: KT102-Connecting-People

GRATITUDE IN A MINUTE WITH KAREN TREIGER

Have you ever had the situation when you are speaking to someone and you realize that you know just the person to help them or maybe someone who would be a possible new friend for them? It happens to me all the time. I know a lot of people and my brain just naturally makes these connections. Lest I forget, I try to sit down at my computer and make an email introduction by the next day. Once the introduction is made, I feel the parties are on their own. Why do I bring this up on a podcast about gratitude? Well, introducing people who might be able to help each other or people who might hit it off and become friends, is a way of showing appreciation and thanks. By making the effort to help people connect in a meaningful way, we can show respect and care for another person and their wellbeing. Helping others to connect is a way to show and feel gratitude. Give it a try.

EPISODE 104: KT104-Smell-of-Coffee

GRATITUDE IN A MINUTE WITH KAREN TREIGER

The smell of coffee in the morning. Sounds like an ad, right? Well, there are some days that my husband Shlomo gets up before I do and when I rise, the first thing that hits me is the deep, rich aroma of coffee brewing in the kitchen. It’s such a lovely thing to wake up to. Coffee, a drink which began in the middle east and then spread throughout the world has become a symbol of my city Seattle, home of the coffee giant, Starbucks. I prefer the roasted beans of my neighborhood coffee shop – Caffe Vita. The other day, I had the indescribable pleasure of taking my nine-month old grandson on a walk to the coffee shop – in his stroller. I donned my light blue mask and ordered a bag of beans. The smell as they were grinding was intoxicating. I am grateful for the aroma and the taste of coffee – especially first thing in the morning.
