The Graphic Novel Apostle Podcast will focus primarily on comic books and original graphic novels from outside the superhero genre: Crime Noir, Horror, Spy Thrillers, Adventure, Supernatural, Comedy, Westerns, Sci-Fi, Slice of Life, and so much more.
We'll cover stories from publishers like Image Comics, Boom! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, Oni Press, AWA, Aftershock, Mad Cave, IDW, and others. And who are we kidding? We'll get into some Marvel and DC books from time to time as well.

Tomi discusses her two podcasts: Giant Size Violence: A Toku Comics Podcast and Transcending Comics, a podcast dedicated to covering trans, non-binary, and gender queer representation in comics, manga, and webtoons. She also discusses combining the subject matter of those two podcasts to tell the story of a superhero who gets stuck in limbo for decades, is long thought to be dead, and returns transformed.

On this week's Book Club episode, the GNA's dad, Kevin Ohrenberger, joins the show to discuss the exciting, brutal, and humorous anti-hero tale, Dead Eyes, vol. 1. Family medical debt (and maybe boredom with ordinary life) brings Boston's legendary criminal from the 1990s, who is known as Dead Eyes for this black mask with red XXs over his eyes, out of a twenty-year retirement and back into the bank robbery game. Unfortunately for Dead Eyes, a top Boston mod boss has been waiting these many years for the robber to resurface. Fortunately for Dead Eyes, the situation might just present an opportunity to get his hands on a treasure trove of dirty money. This episode covers volume 1, which consists of series issues 1-4.
