The WIND: So often, it's our circumstances that spark our fear! We can't always control our circumstances, but we can control how we respond. Notice that Peter “started” to sink. He was sinking slowly...which does not happen under the law of Gravity! Jesus had no intention of letting him fail. All we have to do is CALL ON JESUS! DOUBT: We so often put expectations on God for when, where, and how we want our breakthrough to happen. TRUST, don't doubt, that His was is best and He will rescue! Mark’s Account: Even in the storm, Jesus was there! He didn't cause the storm, but he was there for them in the midst of it. The Story of Moses: Exodus 3: God is calling Moses to lead the Isralieite people out of Slavery “God, can you pick someone else??” For every excuse we have, God has an answer. Moses’ fear was greater than the mission God was giving him at first. God prepared Him along the way and never left His side! You don’t have to be qualified to fulfill God’s will...He will prepare you! Just say YES to the call! The SOLUTION for a heart of Fear: Transform your mind! Remember to DIP Daily pursuit of Christ Identity in Christ Purpose in HIM With Identity, we wear SO many labels: daughter, wife, professional, singer, etc. and then there’s “Christian.” It's almost like a name tag we pick up depending on our activity or who we are with. BUT Christianity isn't just another title...it's a lifestyle that changes EVERY other title in our life. "a pile of chocolate chips isn't a cookie!" It's not until your walk becomes MORE than a title that Christianity truly changes your life. God can’t bless what isn't his. Have you given him your other “name tags?” The big question: Who am I? We are all looking for an answer to fill the void. Until we find our FULL identity in Him that the other titles start to make sense. If the first thing you have found is Jesus then the search is over. We will always be thirsty unless we nourish with LIVING water... CHRIST! The world says one thing about us...but the WORD says another! Ephesians 6:14-18: Armor of God We are warriors! It's who we are! We have been given what we need to be protected and to carry out the mission that God has for us! ARMOR UP DAILY or you will be exposed to the enemy’s attacks Its all about daily pursuit! Belt of TRUTH: His word is TRUTH! Turn to God’s word to know who you are. Breastplate of Righteousness: Satan will try to slander our hearts with sin and shame. God has made us RIGHTEOUS through HIM! A breastplate protects the heart...make sure to guard your heart with that! Don't discount the price God paid for your sin by bringing back old sin and guilt into your life! Shoes of Peace and Readiness of the Gospel: When you walk with God, you can walk in peace! There is nothing worse than having your peace stripped from you. God is simply saying to put on HIS armor and walk in PEACE. Helmet of Salvation: you have to protect your mind because the Enemy will attack with thoughts of doubt and second-guessing our faith! Sword of the Spirit: the word of GOD! What are you a professional in? What do you know and put into practice? We need to become a professional in the Word every day! Shield of Faith: knowing what you stand for and letting that be your shield. Our faith is what will guard us from Satan’s darts! Its the first thing the darts will hit...try to get past my faith!

ITS TELL ME BOUT IT TUESDAY, fam! And today, we are continuing with our mini-series: truth>toxicity! We are READY to have a real talk with you all about toxicity in religion, and even the Church.

First, for disclaimers:

1. We LOVE the Church. We mean no disrespect! We BELIEVE in the Church and support it 100%! We are just navigating real pain and mess-ups that we as humans have committed within the body of Christ.
2. We believe the best in people. We have hope. We love to approach this with the heart-posture that the hearts of people in ministry and faith are in the right place, but often times we get the method of sharing our faith, wrong.
3. The viewpoint here is through the lens of HUMILITY, and only humility. We cannot address how humanity in the church has messed up without confessing that WE have, or will, mess up in proclaiming the gospel, too.
4. The answer to issues with humans is always, always, always JESUS.

OKAY, now that those very important truths have been addressed, lets hop in to some very real questions that address where we as humans have slipped up with delivering the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus:

1. What is the Church?
2. What is our role?
3. What is our role as a christian in a misunderstood religion?
4. How do we respond to: 1) When friends/neighbors have been hurt by religion. 2) When we may be in a toxic situation ourselves.
5. How do we know when something in Church/Religious culture is toxic?

Join us today and we have a real-talk type of chat about this very real questions and point to the ultimate truth that we cannot misplace the promises of God for the people of God.

It is so important that we fix our gaze on things ABOVE us and not AROUND us. Jesus is our ONE perfect example for us, and because of Him, we can be made complete in our weaknesses and (praise, God) be seen as righteous in His eyes. Its ONLY because of Him! PRAISE!

Hey hey, Chosen fam! We cannot believe it, but this is the second to last episode of SEASON 2 of the pod! Thank you SO MUCH for sticking with us and being a part of our Chosen family.Today we are getting real with an inevitable part of life: grief. We are answering the important questions:What is grief?What does it look/feel like?What should I do?What should I do if a friend is grieving?What does the Bible say about grief?What are examples in the Bible of people grieving?What lies will the enemy throw at me about grief? Grief is a very real thing and doesn't necessarily have to do with death alone. It can be loss of any kind, big or small, and, sister...God sees your heart no matter how big or small the loss is. There is no concern of your heart too insignificant for our loving and compassionate God. So friends, if you have endured trauma and are experiencing grief from the terrors of losing a family member, child, or even something personal like a breakup, job-loss, or loss of a friendship...God sees you and is HERE FOR YOU! He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and wants to help you with your burdens and cares (Psalm 55:22). You are not alone. You are not bothering God.
