What Does Jesus Value? The 4th Soil

I always thought I knew what the 4th Soil was. But I think I was very mistaken. Think with me for a few minutes and discover the goodness of Jesus! You will love this one!
Too often we go down the route of Bad Religion and conclude that the 4th soil is the "morally perfect life." Well, the Bible shows that there is no morally perfect life. From Moses to King David to Peter - none are morally perfect. (Of course God wants us to grow in goodness but WITHOUT becoming a Pharisee / self-righteous accuser.)
How many people have got enough religion to just get a moral code or system of rules and use it to find fault with others but not enough of Jesus to want to change and become more like Him? Pharisee-Christians are the single greatest threat to the Gospel. See John chapter 8.
A surprising example of the wonderful 4th soil that Jesus is talking about is Rahab the prostitute! Wonderfully, she is cited in Hebrews 11 as a woman of faith!
Consider this episode as we learn to avoid the hideous evil of the right-wing self-righteous Pharisees but also the left-wing permissive liberal Sadducees. Jesus didn't call us to political groups or religious groups but to the Himself and to His Kingdom and it's values.

Lastly, learn to take your stories of God's help or provision and fight today's fear, loneliness, depression or despair with the same stories. Say to yourself, "God, since you were able to help me in the past in this certain situation, that means you are able to help me battle fear today in this current situation. You can do it!"
This stimulates faith to grow and your confidence in God to expand!
