Give and Toke

On this podcast, you’ll hear stories from industry experts, medical professionals, policy makers, cannabis users and others across the world who can teach us a thing or two about cannabis. Weed, pot, dope - Cannabis has many different names and frequently people's perception of it is negative. Sometimes from a first hand encounter, but far too often from the tall tales we are told as we grow up. Despite the stereotypes of lazy potheads and reefer madness, over a third of Australians have tried cannabis, and 1 in 10 Australians use it regularly.

Roadside Drug Testing Laws in Australia are discriminatory, and despite losing her seat in the 2022 Victorian Election, Fiona Patten is supporting the Legalise Cannabis Victoria Party’s bill to create protections for cannabis users.

In this episode we discuss the need for the law to be changed, why the Andrews Government essentially ignored the findings of the Inquiry Into Personal Cannabis Use, what civilians can do to lobby their local representatives as well as a brief discussion about decriminalization vs. legalisation. There’s a great quiz in this one, too.
