We kept hearing the term, "the Divine Feminine" dropped here and there but we didn't know what it meant. With help from our distinguished guest, Priestess Haneera Abounu, we learned that there is a need for balance among the feminine and masculine energies. When we (men or women) express too much of one energy, we experience an imbalance that plays out in our lives. When we live with balance, we have better communication and relationships and ultimately navigate our lives better as well.

While Priestess Haneera works with men, women, and families to achieve this balance, she specializes in working with women to help them incorporate the divine feminine principles into their lives for the purpose of restoring and strengthening the family structure.

Priestess Haneera Abounu used adjectives such as weak, submissive, and humble to characterize the divine feminine energy. She explained that there is strength in that weakness if you know how to harness it. She also said that feminine energy receives, transforms , creates, and implements structure. Kindness is when you do something nice for someone else without expecting anything in return. It is being generous , thoughtful and helpful. Studies have shown that it has positive mind & body benefits for you the giver, the receiver, and for anyone who witnesses the act of kindness. (Who knew?!) What's more, kindness is contagious! People who are on the receiving end AND those who witness good deed tend to pay it forward, becoming agents of kindness as well. I don't know about you but this is the best contagious thing I've heard of in over a year.

Because self care is something we tend to have to remind ourselves to do, I was glad to hear that being kind to yourself provides the same great benefits. Talk about a win-win!

Being an agent of kindness doesn't have to cost a thing. Whether it is a compliment, sending a thank you note or letting someone in front of your at the grocery store or in traffic, small acts of kindness matter too.
