Four Boys from Liverpool and Their Hot Friend Pete Best
Girl Historians
08/16/24 • 98 min
Blair leads Carley through the history of the Beatles, covering their pre-fame years and dissecting what made John Lennon the way he was.
We also discuss poop in various forms, Idina Menzel, and Blair sings a scary e-girl song and kinda ruins the vibe for a full ten minutes. Always lots of fun on Girl Historians AS USUAL.

Misconceptions and the Wicked Trailer
Girl Historians
03/08/24 • 67 min
It's a lighter episode this week - like watching Bill Nye instead of having science class - as Blair leads Carley through what people get wrong about the Salem witch trials. Also: career changes, musical theater girls ruining their own lives, and a secret handshake for listeners to learn.

Titanic Conspiracies
Girl Historians
11/12/23 • 122 min
"The energy... it's like we drank a bottle of wine before recording this."
Blair and Carley review some of the major Titanic conspiracies that have popped up in the last century (fake ships?! JP Morgan?! Mummies?! Different definitions of ice?!) but get very side-tracked on Anne with an E, cults, the royal family, Joe Biden and a chain, "edgy" comedians, hating Charles Dickens, strong chins, and more singing. If you've thought "I wish they wouldn't talk about the Titanic so much on this podcast," this the episode for you.
Not a joke, this took almost 5 hours to record. It felt unhinged. We had to stop and start several times.
Come on the podcast, Rachel Zegler.

Trailer | Girl Historians: Truthtanic
Girl Historians
09/28/23 • 0 min
Comedians Blair MacMillan and Carley Thorne have spent months obsessing over the Titanic. Like, pre-submersible. In season 1 of Girl Historians, they'll (genuinely) recap the history of the famous 1912 disaster, and (less genuinely) try to figure out: what actually happened?

The Wreck
Girl Historians
11/20/23 • 98 min
Carley and Blair celebrate our Lord and Savior, Robert D. Ballard, seemingly the only person racing to find the Titanic's wreck who wasn't just promoting his ping pong business or whatever. Plus: getting humbled, Enola Holmes, waiting for the invitation, Jack Grimm, certain Toronto mansions, teachers getting too method in history class, Paul Mescal, mispronouncing words, and the year is, famously, 2023.
We love you, Rachel Zegler.

The "2 Executed Dogs" Comedy Hour
Girl Historians
03/29/24 • 63 min
Everyone asked for it, so here’s an episode where Carley and Blair (try not to) talk about the two dogs that were executed for witchcraft. In a new Girl Historians tradition, it only took 5 or 6 episodes into the season to lose their minds. There’s lots of singing.
Also: Blair won the Princess Diana award at Toronto Sketchfest, lots of singing, Breaking Bad spoilers, bad drug experiences, addressing a Truthtanic controversy, St. Paddy’s Day, James Acaster’s new “Hecklers Welcome” stand-up show, comments on the podcast, hog videos, your mom’s weird friends, little pugs hexing you with crusty white eyes, defending Rent and Tick Tick Boom, secret Letterboxd accounts, Carley’s sister’s enemy, Blair crying, and a musical finale.
