Okay... The White Lotus... 63 awards and over 80 nominations don't come easy, but having a top-notch team, from showrunners and writers to producers and crew, sure does help.

Mark Kamine is an executive producer for The White Lotus, as well as 21 Bridges, American Hustle, and many of my favorites. He was gracious enough to spend some time with me, explaining the very misunderstood role of the 'executive producer' from the comfort of his home in NYC

Climbing the Country Music Ladder: Bryan Ruby

Very rarely have I met someone who is both a music artist and also has a second career in an entirely different industry. Today, however, I had the chance to speak with Bryan Ruby, a country music artist who also plays professional baseball!

One of the striking things about my conversation with Bryan is how candid he is about his life and dreams in the music industry. Judging from his rich baritone voice and country roots, he is well on his way. So, let's put our hands together and welcome Bryan Ruby!

Music Supervisor Michael Freeman - The Inside Scoop

Send us a text

Welcome to GIG, the ultimate podcast for learning about jobs in the music and film industry. I'm your host, Mike Redman.

A large part of my career was composing music for the ad business, and my guest today is Michael Freeman, the Exec Music Producer and music supervisor for Ogilvy in NYC...

Michael does a terrific job of explaining the role of a music producer within the confines of the ad world and shares some things you should think about if you want to do business with him.

He gets to spend quite a bit of his time in the recording studio, working with artists and composers. He licenses music and handles a bunch of administrative work. But hey, he also gets to work with Netflix, Burger King, and a bunch of other global brands, making music happen for cool little tiny :30-second films :)
