Jeremie and Steve talk about Peace during their introduction conversation. Have you ever thought about how Peace affects your relationships? How do you be at peace with yourself and with those around you? No amount of business success helps when you're not at peace with the relationships in your life.

Masi Willis is our guest today. She understands people dynamics as much as anyone. If you would like to talk to Masi about working with you as an individual, your team or your organization. Reach out to her on LinkedIn. And check out her website to see all that she offers. The Mason Effect.

Masi shared a piece of wisdom she has heard before. "What you win your teams WITH, is what you will win them TO." She emphasizes the need to live out what your saying within your organization. The culture within an organization needs to be living out their values. In other words, LIVE what you're selling!
So, if you are leading an organization, "What are you selling to your employees?" It's not a one-and done. It must be an on-going living out of your values.
Our favorite episode quotes:
Steve, "Work can be incredible, but if a key relationship is off, no amount of business success brings peace when misalignment in key relationships is there."
Jeremie, "When I am at peace, I'm really good. When I'm not at Peace, I'm really average. Peace is power."
Masi, "What you win your teams WITH, is what you will win them TO."
Episode Takeaway from Steve: You only have finite time and you must prioritize what is most important. How do I disappoint people who want more of my time, in a healthy way?
Episode Takeaway from Jeremie: Peace is power! If you want to empower people, you must have internal peace. Fight being at peace.

GiANT Leadership Podcast

play

02/20/23 • 34 min

Episode Highlights, Links and Resources:
In the introduction, Steve and Jeremie discuss the "glass half full" mentality of leaders. Inspired leaders carry the mantra, "Who says we can't!"
Leadership Tools:
The Influence Model - You have to have Character and Chemistry; Credibility and Competency to create trust with others. The question for a leader is, "Which of these areas are you most likely to lose credibility." Steve gave an example of himself. His natural desire to win can cause him to lose credibility with people. So at times he has to choose to not put winning ahead of the relationship. The key to learning through the Influence Model is to not get defensive when someone is honest with you about what areas need strengthened.
Jeremie mentions his first book, Making Your Leadership Come Alive. This is available on Amazon.
Our guest on this episode is Chandra Jarrett. She is an incredibly liberating leader. Here's some wisdom we glean from her:
1. The narrative in my own head used to be "I have to prove that I belong in this space". Now, learning my Voice order and doing the work, I have grown and shown up and become more confident.
2. My favorite tool is that leaders define culture and sub-leaders define sub-culture. I am not here to just train the highest level leaders, I get to help change the organization through everyone because each person gets to

Chandra mentioned several GiANT products and tools. Create a free account on giantos.com to access the products and services that Chandra offers. Be sure to take the 5 Voices Assessment.
Our favorite episode quotes:
Steve, "Leadership is most needed when people are struggling."
Chandra, "I sit with clients and say, "We are going to go on a journey and it's going to take time. We are going to get healthy."

Episode Takeaway from Steve: Make sure you know what it's like to be on the other side of you. Be brave enough to ask the people who matter most, "How do I undermine my influence with you".
Episode Takeaway from Jeremie: Chandra went on a journey to be healthy not only for herself, but for others. If you're healthy, you can give out of the outflow. It's a journey that works.

By fear and doubt and lack
But now is the time to break free
And chase your dreams with glee
Your vision is a beacon bright
Guiding you towards your destiny's might
So ignore the naysayers and the skeptics
And trust in yourself and your abilities
For you are capable of greatness
And you have what it takes to succeed
