One of the biggest traps we fall into when trying to get jacked, lose weight, earn money, etc is searching for secrets. It’s exciting to think that one piece of knowledge could unlock our dreams, but that is not how the world works. Searching for secrets distracts us from the real answer to big wealth and health. It may be a boring strategy, but it is proven to work and I’m about to share it with you.

Getting Stronger - Setting Numbers Aside

Setting Numbers Aside

Getting Stronger

Everyone loves a good transformation story, but I don't think we (me included) do the best job of telling them. Some of the coolest times of my life have been when those around me have lost weight, turned their careers around, and got fit. Most of their stories are summarized in numbers and credentials, but those facts and figures don't do the transformations justice.

Numbers allow us to track progress, but they aren't the reason the progress matters. Real progress is seen in little moments throughout the journey. It's the benefits that slowly accumulate into a major change. Focusing on the benefits rather than the numbers makes us more likely to reap the rewards of a transformation.

We live in a media environment that gives the impression that the world is burning, but looking around at reality tells us otherwise. This is a conversation with my friend Ashton about his takeaways from a recent trip to Washington D.C. I hope it helps you navigate our crazy political landscape and have better relationships with those you disagree with.

One of the ways fitness improves your life is by making you better at your job. This week's guest experiences this phenomenon first hand. Jared Collins is a high school agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Yamhill-Carlton High School in Yamhill, Oregon. A few months ago, Mr. Collins realized he and his colleagues learned a lot about mental health, but never physical health, so he decided to do something about it. Mr. Collins now runs “The Iron Owl” to promote a message of physical fitness.
