IF GOD EXISTS, WHY IS THERE SO MUCH SUFFERING IN THE WORLD? with PENNY COHEN, LCSW How often have peoples' belief in God hinged on the question of how a God of love and compassion could allow so much pain, suffering and evil to exist in our world? And no doubt even those of faith must wonder at times, especially in times like theses, how and why an all powerful God would permit such extreme horrors to be inflicted on good people and especially the helpless and innocent of this world. On this show Penny and I will endeavor to answer these questions and we invite listeners of all viewpoints to participate in the discussion. ---------------------- Penny Cohen is a transformational psychotherapist, relationship counselor and the author of “Personal Kabbalah: 32 Paths To Inner Peace & Life Purpose.” Find her at www.pennycohen.com. . Who Are You? Who Am I? Understanding Personality Types with Paul Morris? From as far back as 400 BC the ancient Greek philosophers have been codifying personality types. The Greeks used terms like Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic, and Phlegmatic to describe what they called the four fundamental bodily humours or fluids, where an imbalance and dominance of one or the other would tend to create a different personality type. Other systems like Myers Briggs, based on Jungian archetypes exist as well and are most often encountered in corporate HR departments. I will be using a method illustrated by the diagram shown above with four personality types called Driver, Expressive, Amiable and Analytical. This analysis is most often taught in sales training courses for understanding the personality type of the prospect so as to facilitate communication between them and the sales representative. But even if you are not in sales, understanding these types that represent significant individuals in your life an those you may encounter, could simplify and amplify your ability to influence them. Or just tune in to satisfy your curiosity and just for the fun of it! ---------------------- Find Paul Morris @ www.depressivesanonymous.org. Listener call in number (347) 215-9456

Getting On Top - Learning Life Lessons with Penny Cohen, LCSW
play

07/05/16 • 38 min

Learning Life Lessons with Penny Cohen, LCSW It is said that we need to learn life lessons? What does that mean anyway? Some say the Earth is life's school where these lessons can be learned. And, if so, how do we determine them? A hint to the answer is in understanding why the "squeekiest wheel" usually gets oiled first, meaning, the things that bother us the most may just contain the lessons that need to be learned the most. ---------------------- Penny Cohen is a transformational psychotherapist, relationship counselor and the author of “Personal Kabbalah: 32 Paths To Inner Peace & Life Purpose.” Find her @ www.pennycohen.com. Getting On Top - "The Sunny Side of Your Mind" with Paul Morris, EHP
play

05/17/16 • 30 min

"THE SUNNY SIDE OF YOUR MIND:" FIVE STEPS TOWARDS IMPROVING YOUR MOOD with PAUL MORRIS, EHP The realization that I have finally come to after living more decades than I enjoy admitting to is that “mood conquers all.” I used to think, believe and accept that a bad or dark mood was the direct result of my circumstances and until and unless this was changed, I had no choice but to suffer the consequence of my current life situation. This lead me, in my younger days, to seeking out venues where I could drink and party to boost my mood or think of the “magic scheme” that would free me from my roller-coaster like emotional ride. Then one day, when my partying days were over, I learned the truth about ones mood. That truth is that mood, for the most part, is not so much controlled by ones circumstances, which we cannot often control, but by ones thoughts, which we can. Please tune in to the live broadcast or archive to learn more about the importance of and the ease at which you can control your moods. Paul Morris is an Emotional Healing Practitioner, Intuitive Healer, Life Coach, Author, Corporate Training Consultant and Talk Show Host. Paul is the developer of The Emotional Control MethodTM and The Morris MethodTM, a holistic approach for Conquering Depression for LifeTM.Paul conducts his practice from his office in Rockland County, New York and is also available via phone and Skype. MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS: WHY THEY FAIL AND HOW TO MAKE THEM FLOURISH with PENNY COHEN, LCSW Penny Cohen is a transformational psychotherapist, relationship counselor and the author of “Personal Kabbalah: 32 Paths To Inner Peace & Life Purpose.” Find her at www.pennycohen.com. Relationships are very complex entities and there are many reasons why they fail. Whether the relationship is in business, a close friendship or a romantic one, including marriage, expectations are an important dynamic. Since relationships often end due to the dissatisfaction of one or both parties with the performance of the other, expectations are the key parameter. Another key reason romantic relationships fail is the inability of one or both parties to reach a stage of emotional intimacy. In the book “Games People Play,” by Dr. Eric Berne, the author describes different stages of the relationship of couples. The ultimate stage is that of emotional intimacy but unfortunately most couples never reach that goal. Most couples, whose relationship survives for more than say ten years or so, wind up at a stage called games. Penny Cohen and I will be discussing these issues and others with an attempt to convey a way to start, maintain and perhaps even improve how people relate in close and intimate surroundings.
