Get Over Yourself - What You Can Learn From 75 Hard Pt. 2 W/ Chase Stenzel
play

03/17/23 • 29 min

Have you ever heard of 75 hard? 75 Hard is a mental toughness program created by entrepreneur and author, Andy Frisella. The program requires participants to follow a strict daily routine for 75 days, including two 45-minute workouts, sticking to a diet with no cheat meals, drinking one gallon of water per day, reading 10 pages of a non-fiction book, taking a progress photo, and practicing a daily act of kindness. The goal of the program is to develop discipline, resilience, and mental toughness, while improving physical and mental health. It is designed to be challenging and requires commitment, consistency, and dedication to complete successfully.

Last week, Brandon Interviewed Chase about his journey through 75 hard. Despite the fact that 99% of people who start 75 Hard don't complete it, Chase made it to the very end. You would be SHOCKED about some of the things he learned during the journey. Make sure to tune into today's episode so you too can accomplish 75 Hard or any other mental / physical challenges laid forth in your life.

Today's episode is potentially too sweet to handle for some of our listeners ;). Brandon Davis, host of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, interviewed the owner of Dirty Dough cookies. If you haven't been keeping up with the news lately, Dirty Dough is currently being sued by their larger and more obvious competitor, Crumbl Cookies. In today's episode, Brandon asks Bennett Maxwell about the successes and failures he's seen inside his journey of being an entrepreneur and how despite the fact that they are getting sued, how Dirty Dough continues to be growing at a rapid pace.

On the same note, Brandon dives deep into the topic of wellness and mental health awareness with Bennett. Bennett has 3 younger kids and recognized early on in his stage of being a father that kids these days are more susceptible to mental health concerns due to social media. As Bennet was trying to discover ways in which he could help the cause, he realized that a cookie company could actually help. Through Dirty Dough's messages of self-acceptance, looking on the inner appearance rather than the beauty of the outward appearance, and opening up wellness centers with each franchised location, they truly are trying to help the Mental Health Crisis around the world.

If you found anything useful in today's episode or just simply enjoyed it, feel free to tune into next week's episode (posted at 9 AM MST every Friday), leave a positive review, or share this episode with a friend. The "Murph" is a popular workout that consists of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another one-mile run, all done consecutively for time. The workout is named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005 and was known for his dedication to fitness. The Murph workout is often done on Memorial Day to honor fallen military members, and it is considered one of the most challenging and grueling workouts in the CrossFit community.

Despite the fact that it's generally completed on Memorial Day, Brayden Rhoton took it a bit further. 365 days later, Brayden can now say he has not only completed the Murph Challenge for an entire year in a row, but now has the fastest recorded time! In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, Brandon Davis leads Brayden Rhoton through a journey of remembering some of the toughest moments during his Murph journey. The two dive deep into the high's and the low's, the mental struggles, and the physical strains that were put on Brayden. This is an episode you are NOT going to want to miss. Come to learn how to get mentally stronger and accomplish something as insane as doing a Murph for an entire year.

Project 50 is a mental toughness challenge similar to 75 Hard, which involves completing 50 consecutive days of specific physical and mental tasks. Project 50 is a good challenge because it helps individuals develop mental resilience, discipline, and perseverance. By committing to and completing the challenge, individuals can build a sense of accomplishment and confidence, which can carry over into other areas of their lives. Additionally, the specific tasks can help promote healthy habits and personal growth.

Well, have you ever tried to smuggle a bag of candy through airport security? Those TSA agents have no sense of humor! So, in order to cover the cost of their eagle-eyed candy detection services, the airport has to charge an arm and a leg for that sweet, sweet sugar rush.

And let's not forget the ambiance! Dollar stores might have a certain charm, but they just can't compete with the thrill of being surrounded by overpriced snacks and over-stimulated travelers. I mean, who needs to buy a postcard when you can spend $10 on a bag of Skittles? It's all part of the airport experience!

With all jokes aside, have you ever sat back to imagine why airport candy and other snacks cost so much more than food you can find at the local dollar tree? Of course, the simple answer is once your in the airport, you can't really leave. This makes it so all the shops inside can charge out the wazoo for your bag of pringles or package of skittles.

Now, take that a step further. In your personal growth journey, would you consider yourself to be worth the value of airport candy or dollar store candy? In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, Brandon dives deep into the concept of providing more value inside your life and the lives of others. Through practical examples, even a fool would be able to take something away from this episode.
