35: What Is Hurricane Season? (with Ryan Waldron)
09/02/19 • 28 min
It’s Sunday night, September 1st 2019, and the first major hurricane of the year Hurricane Dorian is currently blasting the Bahamas and heading towards Florida and the Carolinas. While most people along these coasts are boarding up their windows and packing their emergency bags, surfers from around the world are doing the exact opposite and heading directly towards the eye of the storm.
It’s officially hurricane season, and the surf is going to get EPIC.
In this week’s episode we hang out with Ryan Waldron, Senior Meteorologist for Witch’s Rock Surf Camp. Ryan grew up surfing in Virginia Beach and he seriously rips. Ryan also studies swell formation and swell forecasts and knows more on the subject than just about anyone.

34: The Sound Of Tamarindo (with Jesse Bishop)
If you’ve spent any time in Tamarindo over the past 20 years, you’ve probably seen (and heard) local music legend Jesse Bishop jamming out on stage. In this week’s episode Joe Walsh, Niki, and PMAC sat down with Jesse to hear his story. Hear how Jesse Bishop found himself playing guitar at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin Texas with musicians such as Count Basie and Willie Nelson. Listen in as he describes how he ever ended up in Tamarindo in the first place, driving from the US to Tamarindo five different times and the adventures he had along the way.
