Obsessed with Shame: ft. Lori Weber (The Brené Brown Inspired Series)
Get Obsessed : With Living Your Best Life
03/03/22 • 29 min
What is shame?
Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines shame as:
Shame is the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love, belonging, and connection. It thrives on secrecy, silence, and judgment. If you put shame into a petri dish and douse it with these three things, it will grow exponentially into every corner and crevice of our lives.
In this episode, Lori Weber joins us to share her struggle and her journey in overcoming an eating disorder. Having spent the majority of her adult life in a disordered relationship with food, Lori describes her experience before as less about the food and more about the power food had over her and the way she obsessively behaved around it.
In addition, she pointed out that keeping this secret behavior away from others for decades made it all worse since it contributed to the growing vicious cycle of self-fulfilling judgments.
She successfully released herself from the spiral of shame when she realized that the behavior was separate from what she really is.
Lori is now on a mission to help others avoid the eating chaos she experienced. Her Mindful Eating Clinic, based in the UK, provides coaching and online courses to clients worldwide. She can treat binge-eating, bulimia, yo-yo-dieting, and obesity and is known for her blend of empathy and pragmatism, helping clients find a happy life with food.

Obsessed With Living Wholeheartedly ft. Susan Burrell
Get Obsessed : With Living Your Best Life
01/13/22 • 28 min
Susan Burrell loves supporting women in their inner growth toward finding their true empowerment. And she shares how we can truly discover our true selves in this episode.
For Susan, empowerment is about having the courage to live your life according to what you truly desire. It's about making decisions free from influences such as fears or doubt but rather being driven by a real sense of purpose and passion.
Susan also talks about how to tap into your intuitive side -- in which she states people are afraid of their inner wisdom due to its psychic nature. She relates this to her own experience as she went through a long, contentious divorce after 28 years of marriage.
Susan is an Intuitive Healer and Spiritual Guide at the crossroads of life with more than 25 years of experience counseling and supporting people in transforming from the inside out.
Susan is living a life that is wholehearted. After living through many of life's challenges she made the choice (like our girl Tina Turner) to own her life and use her intuition to make powerful changes.
What is wholehearted living? Simply put, it means living and loving with your whole heart.
According to Brené Brown, wholehearted living “is about engaging in our lives from a place of worthiness.” It’s understanding that yes, you are imperfect, vulnerable, and afraid, but you are also brave and worthy of love and belonging.

Obsessed with Loneliness (The Brené Brown Inspired Series)
Get Obsessed : With Living Your Best Life
01/27/22 • 27 min
What is loneliness?
Brené Brown, the author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines loneliness as:
The absence of meaningful social interaction—an intimate relationship, friendships, family gatherings, or even community or work group connections.
Today the world appears to be becoming more and more disconnected, with the cracks between people, races, genders, ethnicities, political beliefs, religions, and philosophies widening at an alarming rate. But, when we look deeper, this disconnection and the political and economic machines that are moving people apart are ironically spawning movements bringing people closer together than ever.
People are united in their humanity, joined by their hearts, by their desire for a better world, and the sincere wish to help others who are less fortunate. It takes tremendous strength and courage to remain open-hearted and vulnerable in the world we live in today. And yet, to survive, we must lead from the heart. And we must belong to ourselves.
Loneliness is disconnection (versus being alone). We are social creatures, and in today's climate, it is easier and easier to become disconnected, which leads to loneliness. In Tia's case, she suffered immense grief after her sister's death. And she disconnected from all those around her. She was surrounded by many people - yet felt a deep loneliness.
In this episode, Tia and Julie share their insights and stories about facing the feeling of loneliness and how it leads to disconnection – and how to pick yourself up from being lonely and disconnected.
This episode is dedicated to Shelby Sandahl, a loving sister to Tia who has touched many people's lives.

Obsessed With Empathy ft. Kevin Henry (The Brené Brown Inspired Series)
Get Obsessed : With Living Your Best Life
02/03/22 • 33 min
What is empathy?
Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines empathy as:
A skill set that is one of the most powerful tools of compassion.
Empathy and compassion are related but distinct concepts since both involve understanding another person's situation. The concept of empathy is rooted in identifying, relating, and being present to another person's feelings. It does not necessarily mean you feel the same thing that the other person is feeling.
In this episode, Kevin Henry joins us in exploring and understanding all facets of empathy. For Kevin, people fear the feeling of empathy since it makes us more vulnerable and makes us remember specific occurrences in the past.
He also gives tips regarding opening ourselves to other perspectives, allowing us to feel empathy fully. Kevin pointed out that disallowing ourselves in doing this opens the door to more fear, anxiety, and nonacceptance towards other people.
Kevin is changing the narrative of how people navigate their lives with his 30 years of experience in Program Management, Diversity-Equity-Inclusion education, journalism, training, writing, acting fields, public speaking, and as the host of All The Way Authentic podcast.

The intensely painful feeling that we have been unjustly degraded, ridiculed, or put down, and that our identity has been demeaned or devalued.

Dr. Laura Cobb is a life coach who empowers high-achieving women to rid themselves of fear, guilt, and shame to proudly and confidently suit up, show up, step up, and speak up at every opportunity. She sees herself as an ordinary woman making extraordinary choices one day at a time.

Obsessed with the Emotion Code ft. Michael Losier (The Brené Brown Bonus Episode)
Get Obsessed : With Living Your Best Life
02/24/22 • 37 min
Michael Losier joins us to talk about the Emotion Code as a powerful tool in unblocking any trapped negative emotions and physical pain so that you can have an empowered personal and professional life.
Originating from the works of Dr. Bradley Nelson, the Emotion Code is the world's fastest and most effective method of energy psychology. Michael has found success with the Emotion Code when erasing his client's negative baggage, which causes health, emotional, relationship, and creativity problems.
Michael also delves into how he discovered the power of the Emotion Code through his experiences and how he functions as the person's 'proxy' during Emotion Code sessions to find and delete the negative emotions on behalf of them.
At the end of the episode, Michael demonstrates in real-time what an Emotion Code reading session is and its effectiveness. Moreover, he stresses that the goal in life is to feel good, which can be achieved through having a solid and positive vibration. In turn, this requires eradicating old negative vibrations to become more positive.
Michael is a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner, incorporating this in his Mentor With Michael 8-week program. In addition, he is also a Certified Law of Attraction Facilitator and a sought-after Keynote Speaker and Trainer at Conferences and Conventions specializing in Law of Attraction, Law of Connection, and Fulfillment Needs.

In life, there are always going to be people and moments that help to shape and change the trajectory that your life is on. Sometimes these changes are small, and sometimes they are big. But, the one thing is that you never know when they will happen.
But what about the times when these people are about to quit? Are you there to tell them to continue? To not give up? That they can do it? Obsessed with Conscious Bravery ft. Pamela Brinker
Get Obsessed : With Living Your Best Life
09/29/22 • 29 min
It is undeniable that life will, at some point, challenge us. The question is not if this will happen, but when it will happen and how we will deal with it. We may not always be able to control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond.
Our ability to deal with these challenges depends heavily on our level of resilience and bravery. Resilience helps us to withstand and recover from adversity, while bravery allows us to take risks and seize opportunities.
When we take the time to develop resilience and bravery, we open up new possibilities for ourselves and our lives full of authenticity, joy, and love. We can face our challenges with confidence, and we can seize opportunities with excitement and enthusiasm. These are not fixed traits you either have or don't have. You can build resilience and bravery by taking steps to develop them in yourself.
In this episode, we, together with our guest Pamela Brinker will explore different ways in which we can develop both our resilience and bravery – done with full awareness and intention. Pamela will also discuss the power of therapy and how it can help us create the life we know we're meant for.
Pamela Brinker is a writer who has worked as an integrative psychotherapist for over three decades. With extensive training in somatic work, she equips and empowers others to learn and use transpersonal techniques building upon intrinsic, conscious bravery.
