Mary and Joseph being the parents of Jesus, set the best example of a family. Mary and Joseph were always there for one another, supporting each other, and giving their lives for their child Jesus.

Imitating your families like the family of Mary and Joseph, will surely make your family priceless, through the love of God.

Reflection: We are to start loving every day

One of the biggest challenges every person faces daily in life is to love. Every day is a new opportunity to love the people around you, to start loving in a new way, to start loving in a fresh way. This is the art of loving.

The love you gave to your neighbour, your family, your work colleague a year ago is in the past. The love you gave a month ago, a week ago, yesterday, a minute ago... is all in the past. What matters most is the love you give in the present moment. Are you loving your neighbour, your family, your work colleagues right now, precisely in this present moment? Do you try to love in a new way every day, even if it is a repetitive act of love?

The way you love your family every day by ironing their clothes on a daily basis could be a repetitive act of love. Or, the way you love your poor neighbour by helping them with their errands could also be a repetitive act of love. But do you do it in a new way every day, forgetting and emptying yourself of the way you loved a month ago, yesterday?

Every day we are to love in a new way. We are to love unconditionally... just as Jesus loves us.

So, the challenge is there for you... to start loving every day in a new way.

Many people ask, but how is a Christian to live in today’s society? Others might say, it is impossible to live as a Christian in today’s life.

In brief, to be a Christian is to follow Christ, and to live by His example and teachings. One cannot say of being a Christian and at the same time does not live as a Christian. Being a Christian is to be reflected in your way of living.

The main problem of not living up to being a Christian is that one focuses on what the world offers, and not what has been prepared through the Cross and Salvation of Christ. Today many people are spiritually short-sighted and blind, which causes their hearts to be hardened and lose track of God.

It is useless for people not living up to their Christian faith to blame society, as it is the same people who decide to follow the darkness of society. It is important to remember and to reflect that to be a Christian is to be reflected in your way of living.
