Geopats: Expat life explored in niches

Travis lived in Germany and the Czech Republic for 20 years and podcasts about history on podcastnik.com. After talking about alchemy and witches as a ghost-tour guide in Prague, he teamed up with Pete Collman to figure out podcasting as a medium to tell stories from history. Travis has a long and complicatedly long adoration with coffee that started in his childhood upbringing in Germany. Now, he now lives in Oregon, where he partakes in specialty and 7-11 coffee.

Stephen is a massive advocate for hobby podcasters and focuses on the joy of the experience in everything he does in his podosphere.
In this conversation, we chat about:
- the podcasting scene in Canada
- his background in audio and video
- the origin stories of both the Gonna Geek network AND the co-hosted Better Podcasting podcast.
For those of you following the Geopats Books podcast, Better Podcasting will sound familiar because Stephen’s Co-Host, SP was our most recent guest on that podcast where we talked about the book that started the Expanse TV series, Leviathan Wakes.
The link for that books episode and everything we mention in this podcasting conversation will be in your podcast app notes and at https://www.stephfuccio.com/geopatspodcasting/23

Language: Falling In Love With Languages With Kerstin Cable of The Fluent Show Podcast
Geopats: Expat life explored in niches
09/11/20 • 63 min
Welcome to a language learning conversation in 3 acts with Kerstin Cable of The Fluent Show Podcast. Act 1 is where Kerstin and I share our empathy for the language learner during the sometimes arduous process. But then we hit heads in act 2 by arguing (respectfully, of course) about natural ability when it comes to learning languages. But don't worry, by act 3, we shift to swooning, with languages being the things we fall in love with. Do you want to learn German? Try the German Uncovered Course. I am! https://school.fluentlanguage.co.uk/p/german-uncovered/?affcode=28114_oc64fynv (https://school.fluentlanguage.co.uk/p/german-uncovered/?affcode=28114_oc64fynv)

Coffee: The moral dilema of foam art in Tokyo, Paris, & New York with Yuki of Book Nerds Tokyo
Geopats: Expat life explored in niches
02/09/22 • 51 min
Yuki and I sat down to have this conversation far too long ago. Life has been crazy and, to be honest, I even stopped drinking coffee for awhile. So it felt weird publishing this episode during that time.
But things feel a little more frothy these days, so here it is! And here SHE is:)
Yuki has sought out, enjoyed and brewed coffee in many locations globally. She's more known for her Book Nerd Tokyo Instagram account cause she's also a bookworm (yet another reason to adore her) but you'll often see coffee in her IG posts as well.
Cause books and coffee go very well together.
But if you're reading this, you are well aware of this glorious pairing.
Let me tell you a few things you don't already know.
