The mere mention of the word “transhumanism” evokes for many people a mental picture of a tin-foil hat. Are there people who truly think that we can become something other than homo sapiens? Can we somehow self-identify outside of our species by way of technology?

And, even if we could, should we?

Surely, this is utterly preposterous, you might say. This delusion will never become mainstream. But isn’t that exactly what many said about transgenderism around a decade ago?

Major figures — some of whom have billions of dollars at their disposal — who are behind pushing transgenderism around the world are also driving many forms of body dissociation for profit, reengineering humanity itself in pursuit of such things as living forever in cyberspace.

In a way, gender ideology, the push to obliterate the material reality of sex, is itself a form of transhumanism. In this season finale, we speak with three individuals who argue that we should not overlook the unmistakable connection between the vain attempt to transcend our sex (transgenderism) and transcend our personhood (transhumanism) – and warn that one is the onramp to the other.

Indeed, when obvious lies about the basic facts of our humanity rule the day, chaos ensues. And in the family courts, that ruthlessness is accentuated in light of the way it disrupts and severs our most intimate relationships.

In the bonus episode for season 3 of this podcast series, we profiled Ted Hudacko, a dad whose ordeal is a case study as to how gender ideology takes over one’s life. To briefly recap, in violation of a court order which required that he be notified and give consent to any gender identity-related surgery, doctors at a major gender center at the University of California - San Franscisco carried out so-called "gender-affirming care," performing a surgical procedure that inserted a hormone-blocking device in his then-minor son’s arm. They also started his son on a course of cross-sex hormones. In light of this violation, Hudacko took legal action both in a family court complaint and in a federal lawsuit.

When gender ideology pervades the law, the normal rules do not seem to apply., It appears that, as Hudacko’s case has illustrated, they seem to make it up as they go along. And when there is a messy divorce and questions of custody? These bitter, protracted fights never seem to end.
