The COVID-19 Pandemic has brought live action film and TV production to a halt worldwide. But as it continues and quarantines are lifted, it's time to get back to work. What exactly does that mean to filmmakers, both at the studio level and independently? To help me with some of those questions is my own producer and friend Noam Dromi. Noam is a writer and producer with extensive and award winning film, video and new media experience (he also wrote 'Dolphin Tail'... one of Matt Kelly's favorite movies) and we discuss how technology is going to be a crucial part of changing the game and getting our films back up and running. Along the way I urge you all to go see 'The Vast of Night', we discuss what role podcasting and groups like Geekscape have in the future of entertainment and more! Also, previous Geekscape guest Matt Pinfield is in need of some help so I have linked his GoFundMe below along with some of the other podcasts Noam and I are producing during the Pandemic. Enjoy!
Please visit our friend Matt Pinfield's GoFundMe and donate if you can!
Listen to In Quarantine with Steve Bodow... cuz Noam and Jonathan produce it!

The Geekscape 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Special!
'Spider-Man: No Way Home', the Marvel cinematic event of the year, has swung into theaters! So of course it's time to break it all down in a Geekscape Special with our friend Ian Kerner! And there is a LOT to talk about so there will be LOTS of Spoilers! How does No Way Home rank alongside past Spider-Man and MCU films? In what ways does No Way Home Expand the Spider corner of the MCU? What does the introduction of the multiverse mean for this and future Marvel movies? What do the events of No Way Home Mean lead to? And how crazy was the fan service in this film?!?

The Geekscape 'Hawkeye' Season 1 Special!
'Hawkeye', based on everyone's favorite bow-slinging member of Marvel's Avengers, wrapped up its first season on Disney+! And it was full of surprises, fun moments and MCU effecting revelations. So now that it's been a week, let's sit down with everyone's favorite human comic book encyclopedia Ian Kerner to discuss all six episodes! What were the highlights? What were some parts we still have questions about? When will we see Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop next? Alaqua Cox's Echo? What about The Swordsman? Or the Bros? Yelena Belova's Black Widow? And was there any other cool MCU character that we're forgetting we should talk about maybe...? And of course, what's next for Clint Barton? There will be tons of spoilers for this and probably 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' so be careful because we're taking aim at all of it on this one!

Filmmaker Issa López's 'Tigers Are Not Afraid' is a horror fairytale told against the backdrop of Mexico's violent drug world... but through the eyes of a child. Using fantastical elements similar to Guillermo Del Toro films like 'Pan's Labyrinth' and 'The Devil's Backbone', it tells the story of abandoned street children fighting for survival and the ghosts that follow them in their journey. Issa took some time to talk about making the film, the challenges of mixing supernatural elements into a gritty, realistic story and working with such a young cast. Along the way, we talk growing up as a film and horror geek and a bit more! Enjoy!

COVID 19 is still raging and we're still quarantined in our homes! 'The Last Of Us 2' has been delayed and we're trying to make do with 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons'! Is this pandemic even survivable? Luckily, we're getting the Geekscape video game crew back together to walk you through the one media industry that hasn't been destroyed by the pandemic! Shane O'Hare and Josh Jackson return with surprise guest and occasional podcaster Derek Kraneveldt to talk about the latest video game news and to announce a return of a Geekscape Games (or whatever Shane and Josh want to call it at this point)! Along the way we discuss and speculate on the XBox Series X, the Playstation 5, when I might see the Breath of the Wild sequel or a new Metroid Prime game and everyone convinces me to get Animal Crossing! We also talk about new video game inspired shows like 'Upload' and 'Mythic Quest' and do a lot of reminiscing on old San Diego Comic Con mishaps! Enjoy!

We don't talk much sports on Geekscape, but ESPN's multipart Michael Jordan documentary 'The Last Dance' is a major event. And with the Coronavirus Pandemic shutting down sports, who knows when I'll get a chance to geek out on the NBA again. Luckily, Zach Harper is a basketball writer for The Athletic and a personality on SiriusXM's NBA channel and is here on Geekscape to talk about the NBA shutdown, how esports is continuing to take over in the wake of the pandemic and when we might see basketball again! Along the way, we discuss the best basketball documentaries, the best basketball videogames (is it NBA Jam?) and what NBA players are total geeks themselves! Former Geekscape guest Erin Darling Torralva also drops in to talk about her new online comedy course and how she and Zach are navigating the quarantine together! Enjoy!

Ultimate Fakebook's Bill McShane has been a friend for a long time... so why hasn't he been on Geekscape already to talk about his awesome band? Well, maybe because that band hasn't put out a new album in 16 years! But that all changed last month with the release of Ultimate Fakebook's 'The Preserving Machine'! Bill arrives on the show to talk about the influences that went into the album, how it's the closing of a chapter in the Ultimate Fakebook story and why they would never have turned down shows with The Descendents! Along the way we talk a little emo history, I put my next haircut in the hands of the viewers and discuss how destructive we were as kids! Enjoy!
