There have been many movies that failed at the box office, but every now and then, some special ones find new life afterwards and become fan favorites. Now imagine if those films never existed previously, and instead were released in current times. Who would direct them? Who would star in them? The Geek Salad crew is here to consider some alternate timelines with episode 238: "The Great Replacement Theory of Cinema".

Join Andy, Mike, and Katherine as they each pick two films that could be made today, but with different casts and crews. The original films may be beloved, but what would they be like if made today? Would you buy a ticket to the proposed films, or let them pass?

There were so many great films that didn't make it into the top 10 highest grossing movies of 1993, than the actual top 10 must have been phenomenal, right? Not necessarily. And to discuss that very subject, the Geek Salad crew is once again joined by Em from the Verbal Diorama podcast for the second part of episode 242: Every Inhouse, Outhouse, and Doghouse.

Re-join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine, as well as Em, as they discuss the top 10 highest grossing (domestically) movies of 1993 and how, for the most part, they pale in comparison to movies that made FAR less. However, that doesn't mean all of the top 10 were forgettable films. A few are rightfully considered as truly great films. #1, in particular, is still regarded as a cinematic milestone. So kick back and hold onto your butts for the rest of their discussion of the movies of 1993.

Lately, Disney has been doing a lot of live-action (or CGI that looks like live-action) remakes of their past animated hits. Geek Salad has decided to get in on this lucrative action by coming up with some of their own ideas for live-action remakes in episode 222: "Is It Live... or Is It A Disney Remake?"

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they discuss what Disney animated movies could (or could not) have potential to be the basis for a fairly decent live-action movie. Were the animated movies successes, or flops? Did anyone get convinced that the option might have potential? Listen and find out!

Every TV series must eventually end, but many times the finales tend to fall flat, or they get cancelled and end up not having an actual finale. Every now and then, though, we get a TV series finale which truly lives up to the show it concludes. The Geek Salad crew is back to go over some of their favorites in episode 237: "Spoilers... Duh! part 1"

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they consider why successful shows often fail at sticking the landing. Then they discuss some of the favorite picks from social media (a few of which coincide with their picks). Then come back in about a week to hear part 2 where they cover the rest of their personal favorites.

When a book is very successful, they often make more books in that series. If it's even more successful, they often make a movie based on one or more of those books. If the movie is successful, then they make multiple movies based on the multiple books. Got all that? Well so do the Geek Salad crew as they discuss movie series based on book series in episode 240: Ian Fleming's Rings of Twilight Hunger.

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they go over some of the good movie franchises, bad movie franchises (or bad attempts at franchises) and some that are more of a mixed bag. From Ian Fleming's super spy series to a rather unknown fantasy one about hobbits, they tackle all they can think of. Tolkien, himself, would approve of this super-sized episode... maybe. Hard to say with that one.

There are years that have a decent amount of great movies. Then there is 1993, where the list of great movies is off the charts. For a list of movies this large, not even the Geek Salad crew could handle it on their own. So, once again, they have united with Em from the Verbal Diorama podcast to bring you episode 242: Every Inhouse, Outhouse, and Doghouse.

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they are joined by Em to go over some of the many, many great movies that came out during 1993. Unlike previous years, though, this time they tackle the top 10 highest grossing movies in part 2. Here in part 1, they discuss a lot of the other movies which end up being a bit more beloved than the majority of the top 10.

For almost as long as there have been computers, people have been playing games on them. I'm sure almost everyone has had at least some experience with PC gaming, but some have more than others. The Geek Salad crew is here to talk about some of their favorite moments from their own personal experiences in Episode 228: You Have Died of Dysentery.

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they chat about some of their favorite games that they originally played on PCs. They may have played the console versions later, but we're sticking to the PC versions. Which of the crew had more PC experience than others? Listen and find out.

2021 was a pretty lousy year in general, but one very bright spot was that it gave us the first Marvel Cinematic Universe television shows on Disney+. Starting in January with WandaVision all the way to December with Hawkeye, we were shown five different series which further the ever growing MCU. So to kick off 2022, Geek Salad takes a moment to look back at these shows in episode "219: What If... It Wasn't Agatha All Along, Bro".

Join Andy, Mike, Joe, and Katherine as they discuss and rank WandaVision, Falcon & the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If...?, and Hawkeye. Which series ranked number one for each of the gang? And exactly how long do they spend looking at Magneto's various costumes over the years? (It's a very odd tangent, trust me)

Better late than never...Geek Salad takes a fond look back at the movies released in the year 1992. Please check out Em’s podcast Verbal Diorama wherever you get your podcasts! You can follow her at Verbal Diorama on all of the social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Hive, Mastadon).
