In this episode I talk with Jen Oshman about her book, Cultural Counterfeits. Jen is church planting wife, author, women’s ministry director, a speaker. She has been published at Desiring God, Crossway, The Gospel Coalition, Tim Challies, Risen Motherhood, Unlocking the Bible, Church Leaders, A Life Overseas, and she is a staff writer at Gospel-Centered Discipleship.
In her book, she explores cultural counterfeits to Christianity which many people are prone to believe today. Using the paradigm of idolatry, she examines topics such as abortion and the LGBTQ movement and their deception.
We also talk about the dustup from her article (based on a chapter from her book) on how Christian women idolize marriage and family. We consider various critiques of her article and approach on this topic.

Bio: Troy Frasier is one of the co-founders of Revived Studios, the co-host for Revived Thoughts. After Troy pitched the idea of Revived Thoughts to Joel in November of 2017, they began designing, recording, and producing the show. Although it would be a year and a half before Revived Thoughts officially launched, it would fill a need to help bring church history back to life. Within a year they had launched Revived Devos, with host Nathaniel.
Since then Elise joined the studio with Revived Radio. She also envisioned a show focusing on the lives and sacrifices of martyrs and missionaries, that became the basis of her show aptly named, Martyrs and Missionaries.
