Tracy Coenen is my go to person when it comes to all things forensic divorce. Her depth of experience and expertise is unparalleled. Take a listen to her hidden talent but also her work on an Instagram investigation case tied to a divorce. Tracy talks about how important it is to network in your field. Tracy is also noteworthy for her fixed fee arrangements. Say goodbye to the six minute increment. If you are tired of keeping track of your time you should hear how she did this. The riches are in the niches and Tracy is a great example of how it has worked for her. She resisted for a while but in the end it has been her calling card.

Fraudish - Episode 58 Dan Ramey
play

12/07/21 • 49 min

I am excited to have Dan Ramey as a Great Dude in Fraud today. This episode includes everything from how women and men differ in embezzlement aka pink collar crime, how Dan is constantly adding to his arsenal of fraud knowledge, think crypto, and so much more. Dan is a big podcast listener and we compare notes on various podcasts. Dan Ramey Forensic Accountant; Expert Witness; Conference Speaker; Forensic Accounting & ERM Professor and all things fraud. Dan is a mentor and more importantly a friend to me. His wealth of experience and knowledge make him a thought leader in the fraud world. We talk about creativity and embezzlement, crypto and fraud, podcasts, Enron, Rita Crundwell, Collin Street Bakery. This is another great Great Women in Fraud podcast with a leader in the field. This past week I took some time to enjoy the holidays but I was able to listen to a lot of podcasts while traveling. Number one crazy was Swindled Episode 74, The OB-GYN. You must listen. Truly. It made me so angry at how this went on for so long. Women’s health and profiting from it. Wow. I never could have imagined. I’m also continuing to listen to Bad Blood the Final Frontier. The Elizabeth Holmes trial is getting to the home stretch. I really have no idea how it will go. A friend posted a Washington Post opinion piece, Women can be evil too. With Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial and Elizabeth Holmes ongoing it seems that women are getting some ink so to speak. It starts out: Two villainesses have captured the nation’s attention from the courtroom this week. Or is that two victims? An interesting read for sure. Let’s get started with Dan’s interview. Our GWIF guest today, Ellen Hunt, has recently returned full-time to her hometown of Chicago. I think by the end of this episode you will be reaching out to Ellen to talk all things compliance and careers. I have her to thank for introducing me to Lloydette Bai-Marrow. GWIF has shown me and hopefully you all the areas of business that intersect such as compliance, fraud, internal audit. Don’t stay in your silos or fiefdoms as I like to refer to them. Fraudish - Episode 13 Mary Breslin CIA, CFE
play

12/22/20 • 37 min

Mary Breslin knows how to throw a party. I was very lucky to have been invited to her party at the Global ACFE in 2019. When we are back in person you need to get the invite for ACFE Global. What I love about this episode is that everything that Mary brings up is relevant, timely and actionable. You will never look at a Lamborghini again the same way. Or as the fraudsters say a Lambo. "Internal auditors are my people" is just one of the takeaways. We talk about accounting, COVID, full employment for fraud professionals and so much more.
