Sad movie deaths give us the painful opportunity to remember the characters we loved. They are meaningful, thought provoking and often times confusing. They expose us to an experience that hurts us to go through, and even worse -- rewatch to relive. Through these loses, we process grief to sometimes never fully understand why we grew so attached to these individuals. Sometimes our heroes go out on their shield, sometimes they leave us after performing a redeeming action and most of the time they give us an association to something special we can never truly let go. This week on Formidable Opponents, we're talking heartbreak, sadness and loss. HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYBODY!!!!

This week on a very special episode of Formidable Opponents, Joseph is found unconscious in an abandoned refrigerator during a deadly game of hide and seek, Bob is under the influence of a sinister cult and Randall is busted trying sell a bootlegged recording of a Doobie Brothers concert (by the Doobies themselves!).
Actually, this is a very different, "very special episode" (bike shop owners, you're off the hook...for now). This week we are guests on "Turn of the Millennials Podcast." Join us on this simulcast as we collectively discuss our "favourite" (they're Canadian) and most memorable movie soundtracks (mainly from the 90s but we spill onto several decades). Bonus content of this episode can be exclusively found on "Turn of the Millennials" podcast. Check them out!

This week on Formidable Opponents, we debate which bands/artist should have had bigger careers by taking into account the following criteria.
1) Does your stomach churn when you're in the car with someone, turn up the volume to a song from an artist you love only to hear the person you're in the car with say, "Who in the hell is this?"
2) Do you refuse to throw away that old, tattered "I saw this band live when they were cool" t-shirt (replete with nacho cheese stains)?
3) Do you openly and sadly ponder the meaning of life when you're in the produce section at your local grocery store and your tomato examination is interrupted by a once cool band gently playing over the supermarket speaker?
If you said yes to any one of these questions, this is the episode for you (hell, even if you said no)! Yes, this week on Formidable Opponents, we're talking Bands/Artists That Should've Had Bigger Careers (don't judge).
